The Strikers also come into this clash full of confidence after a commanding New Year’s Eve win over the Heat that lifted them to 2 and 2 on the season. Bowling first, they were outstanding, skittling Brisbane for just 121, with Jamie Overton leading the charge with a superb 3 for 19 from four overs. It was one of Adelaide’s most complete bowling performances of the campaign.
The chase was straightforward. Chris Lynn turned back the clock with a blistering 79 off 41 balls as the Strikers cruised to the target three wickets down in just 14.1 overs. The decision to give Mackenzie Harvey the gloves paid off, and with no changes expected, Adelaide will look to carry that same balance into a tough road assignment. The only minor concern is a knock picked up by Hasan Ali, though he is expected to be available.

Adelaide arrive in good form, but this is a significant step up in class and conditions. Perth’s top five of Finn Allen, Mitch Marsh, Cooper Connolly, Aaron Hardie and Ashton Turner have all already produced match-winning contributions this season, and it often only takes one of them to get going for the Scorchers to push past 200.
