Flemington Racing Tips: Wednesday, December 31st 2025
Race 6: NYE Twilight Sprint 1000m - 6:30pm (AEDT)
(15) Celerity looks a good chance up the straight after two solid runs in this campaign. She has been backed to win her last couple and wasn’t too far away over this distance with Carleen Hefel on. She gets Jamie Melham on this time and this mare has raced in harder races than this before and has been competitive. She is only $3.00 at present in a field of 15 and we won’t want to take any less than that.
(4) Castellar likes Dry ground and has been gelded since his last win which was close to a year ago. The Bedgood stable has taken over training and Craig Williams is on.
(13) Rhia ran on well to score at Mornington last start and she is 2 from 2 over the 1000m. If they go too hard in front he can run over the top of them.
(15) Celerity WIN
$3.00 (2 units)
Race 7: Victorian Jockeys Association Sprint 1100m - 7pm (AEDT)
(14) Egerton has drawn wide in 15 but up the straight that is not a bad draw. She has either finished 1st or 2nd on five occasions on Good tracks which she gets again and she has been freshened for this after a close up 2nd at Caulfield last start. Will be one of the best late.
(1) Sea Poem has a good winning strike rate and will also get home well at the end. Goes up in weight but has already won 2 races over this journey.
(6) Alero is first up from a spell and has won first up previously. Races well with Jamie Melham on top and she has won in this class before. Is very consistent and will pay even money the Place.
(14) Egerton Each-Way
$10/$3.20 (0.50 units)
Race 8: Shore Goggles Sprint 1200m - 7:30pm (AEDT)
(1) Rue De Royale has drawn inside over the 1200m which may not be ideal but I think he is ready to go third up. He is a bit of a non winner having only won 1 from 20 starts but he has talent and does his best racing on Dry tracks. He has placed 5 from 10 starts in Listed class and this is one of the easier races he has been in. It's been 15 months but he can end the year with a rare win.
(12) Shaime has a good record over this track&distance and has run well in harder races before. She has had 8 races this year and hasn’t even placed but she gets her preferred distance and her 5th at Caulfield last start was quite good.
(5) Three Rings is pretty consistent and did win well last start at Gawler. This is harder but he is very experienced over this trip.
(1) Rue De Royale Each-Way
$6.50/$2.50 (1 unit)
