NBA Betting Tips: Saturday, November 8th 2025

Houston Rockets at San Antonio Spurs (11:30am AEDT)

The battle of Texas will see Houston travel a short distance to San Antonio as both sides are 5-2 entering Saturday’s contest. The Rockets have won the past three games against the Spurs, but this is an improved Spurs roster, led by Victor Wembanyama, supported by point guard Stephon Castle, last season’s Rookie of the Year. While they have played in recent encounters, they are still growing as players and have started taking that next step – Wembanyama in particular is being propelled into superstardom.

Houston now has Kevin Durant though, and his resume speaks for itself. Durant leads the team early in the season in scoring, at 24 points per game, but they are sharing it around with the veteran trusting in his teammates, such as center Alperen Sengun (22.4ppg) and Amen Thompson (18.6ppg). They have been an offensive juggernaut to start this season, scoring 124.7 points per game as a team, and shooting 42.7% from deep – both are top two in the league.

On the other hand, the Spurs are middle of the road in terms of scoring at 118.2 points per game – their focus under head coach Mitch Johnson has been on the defensive end of the floor. Wemby is averaging 4.1 blocks per game and looks certain to win Defensive Player of the Year if he stays healthy. Good offense can beat good defense in today’s game, which is why I like the Rockets to cover the -2.5 line.

Prop Bet: S. Castle Over 18.5 Points $1.83 (1 Unit) – Neds

Rockets -2.5

$1.90 (1.5 units)

Chicago Bulls at Milwaukee Bucks (12:00pm AEDT)

The red-hot Chicago Bulls are full of confidence after a huge comeback win against the Philadelphia 76ers, and set their sights on the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bulls are a surprising 6-1 to lead the East as they meet the 5-3 Bucks. Standing in their way will be Giannis Antetokounmpo who is playing at an elite level which is the norm for “The Greek Freak.”

Milwaukee is shooting well as a team through the opening eight games – 50.7% from the field and 39.5% from three. Both rank inside the top six in the league. Giannis is a double-double machine, and the Bulls are going to have a tough time containing him. He often has some big scoring games against the Bulls and Nikola Vucevic and co. are going to need to throw double teams – they would love to deny him the ball early, but Giannis loves to go coast-to-coast as he pushes the ball up court with speed.

Point guard Josh Giddey is proving his worth for the Bulls and has been scoring triple double at wills to start the season. Giddey is the key offensive player and he will try and set the tone with Vucevic if the Bulls are to defeat the Bucks. He is becoming an elite playmaker which is why the Bulls rank fourth in assists per game at 29.6. Matas Buzelis is another key piece for the Bulls – however, I think Giannis, the much-improved Ryan Rollins, Kyle Kuzma and offseason acquisition Myles Turner will prove too much at home. They can cover the -4 line with Giannis having a monster scoring game.

Prop Bet: G. Antetokounmpo Over 32.5 Points $1.85 (1 Unit) – Ladbrokes

Bucks -4

$1.90 (1 unit)

Golden State Warriors at Denver Nuggets (2:00pm AEDT)

The Golden State Warriors will be without Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler is questionable. They will meet a healthy Denver Nuggets team led by three-time MVP Nikola Jokic. The Nuggets enter the game at 5-2, while the Warriors are 5-4. The season is young, but Jokic is showing that he is still arguably the best player on the planet, averaging 24.1-13.4-12.0 splits, shooting 61.3% from the field. Supporting Jokic is his number two Jamal Murray with 22.7 points per game and Aaron Gordon at 20.4 points – Gordon started the season with a mammoth 50-point game.

With Curry out, a lot of the offensive bulk will fall on Butler’s shoulders (if he plays). Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, Brandin Podziemski, Draymond Green and Buddy Hield will likely share scoring duties if Butler is also out. The Nuggets are unlikely to fear that offensive outfit, which may force Kuminga to create his own shot more frequently – expect more isolation plays as coach Steve Kerr has given him a bigger role this season.

The Nuggets at home are 4-0 to start the season, were 26-15 last season, and have Jokic who can do anything offensively. He can score, create shots, and generate space for others – even before factoring in the team’s defense. This is in part due to the reunion with Bruce Brown, a tenacious defender that is excellent one-on-one. Peyton Watson and Jokic have also been good defensively to start the season. Expect the Nuggets to win this one comfortably at home against the Curry-less Warriors.

Prop Bet: A. Gordon Over 17.5 Points $1.87 (1 Unit) - Ladbrokes

Nuggets -9.5

$1.85 (1 unit)
