Flemington hosts a massive 10 race program on Saturday with the GROUP 1 Turnbull Stakes being the feature. Via Sistina is the favourite despite losing last start and the Chris Waller stable will be keen to make amends and get another GROUP 1 win on the board. The track is predicted to be a Good 4 but with some light showers around a Soft 5 is a possibility too. Race one starts at 12:25pm (AEST) and the quaddie starts at race 7 on the program.

Flemington Racing Tips: Saturday, October 4th 2025
Race 1: TAB We’re On 1200m - 12:25pm (AEST)
(10) Stolli Bolli has placed in all 3 starts since a spell and I have tipped him on each occasion so can’t drop off now. JMAC had a look on top last start when he stormed home for 3rd after he was slow out and he remains with the team and they will want to try and come from behind again. Barrier 6 is okay and the gelding will want the track to stay Good.
(12) She’s An Artist is one of Maher’s best sprinters and a good track will suit her too. She is a lot fitter now and Shinn has chosen her as his mount.
(7) Persian Spirit ran on well to score at this track last start and barrier 16 might be a good result up the straight.
(10) Stolli Bolli WIN
$4.80 (1 unit)
Race 2: Darley Maribyrnnong Stakes 1000m - 12:55pm (AEST)
(11) Sabrina is having her first start for the McEvoy stable and Luke Currie takes the steer. Cheap $90,000 purchase who jumped out well.
(5) Knurl has won 2 Flemington jumpouts and gets Damien Lane on for his first start.
(9) One Day At A Time looks speedy and was 2nd in a jumpout behind stablemate Sabrina 3 weeks ago.
TIP: No Bet
Race 3: Super Impose Stakes 1800m - 1:30pm (AEST)
(4) Options has a wide barrier in 11 and he has the ability to run on well. The colt may want a Soft track here and he was unlucky when 3rd last start at this track.
(3) Officiate has the blinkers on and is going for two in a row after winning at Canterbury last start. Waller and JMAC combine.
(11) Arabian Prince is resuming and goes into this race pretty fresh without an official trial or jumpout. Mick Kent and Dec Bates combine.
TIP: No Bet
Race 4 TAB Edward Manifold Stakes Group 2 1600m - 2:05pm (AEST)
(1) Bellazaine led almost all of the way last start at Hillside but managed 5th as they stormed over the top of her. She was only defeated by .5L and she has the pace to lead again in this race which is 200m longer. It's her second try at the mile and she is stronger now. Her form looks poor on paper but she does have a lot of talent.
(4) Yum ran on well to win at Caulfield here and raises in class here. First try at the mile and barrier 10 is okay as she gets back anyway.
(2) Zany Girl has drawn inside and I can see her settling midfield on the rails here. Willow stays on and he has placed o here previously.
(1) Bellazaine WIN
$5.00 (1 unit)
Race 5: Kirin Ichiban Rose Of Kingston Stakes Group 2 1400m - 2:40pm (AEST)
(11) Pondalowie ran on well last start at this track and he was a bit unlucky in that race too. Damien Lane hops back on and from the widest barrier will drop him out to last before he gets his mount to run on over the final 400m. Big odds here but has won third up previously.
(2) Mirval Rose likes Good tracks and drops a kilogram despite winning at Caulfield last start. Likes this distance and likes Flemington.
(4) On Display is quality but is a bit short at $2.50. Ben Melham has won when on top 2 of 3 starts and she stays in Group 2 company here in arguably an easier race.
(11) Pondalowie Each-Way
$21/$4.80 (0.50 units)
Race 6: Danehill Stakes Group 2 1100m - 3:15pm (AEST)
(6) Rosberg was very impressive on debut when winning on debut in a Listed race over 1200m. That win was on a Dry surface as well which he should get again and barrier 2 looks ideal so Jamie Melham can position him in a similar position as last time. The stable has opted to drop the distance back to 1100m but he should be sharp enough to perform.
(8) My Gladiola got up by a nose up the straight at Flemington last start and he gets the same conditions here. He ran on well from way back on that occasion and he will want a fast tempo again.
(1) Tentyris is resuming and Mark Zahra who has won on top before is straight back on. Raises 2.5kg in weight for this race.
(6) Rosberg WIN
$4.40 (1 unit)
Race 7: The Lexus Bart Cummings Group 3 2520m - 3:50pm (AEST)
(2) Revelare has won 8 from 11 starts and is flying at the moment for Rob Hickmott. He has beaten most of these horses before and another Dry track helps his causes again. He came from midfield to claim to Group 3 Archer Stakes last start and apparently he was still only 80-90 percent fit that day. Cherry ripe now and can win again. A Melbourne Cup start awaits and Revelare is currently 12-1 in the market.
(15) Gilded Water gets his first race at Flemington so i think the $2.20 on offer is too short. In saying that he won very well from a wide barrier (11) at Caulfield last start over 2000m and the rise in distance suits. Current Melbourne Cup odds of 16-1.
(6) Berkshire Breeze ran on well last start to Place and Flemington is his favourite track. Is proven over this distance and will want a Dry track.
(2) Revelare WIN
$3.60 (1 unit)
Race 8: TAB Turnbull Stakes GROUP 1 2000m - 4:35pm (AEST)
(4) Via Sistina was 3rd but not disgraced behind Mr Brightside last start in the GROUP 1 Makybe Diva and the stable will be keen to get back on the winning train again here. Champion mare who has won 14 from 26 and is fitter now after 2 starts back from a spell. Loves the 2000m and and she is 2 from 2 over this track&distance.
(7) Aeliana is fitter for running 2nd in the same race as the above last start and she had very good closing sectionals in that race. She may sit a length or two behind Via Sistina in the run but should Place again.
(3) Sir Delius was fantastic winning the GROUP 1 Underwood Stakes last start and he sees Flemington for the first time before his tilt at the Melbourne Cup in 4 weeks time. The extra 200m suits but the above might be too sharp for him over this journey.
(4) Via Sistina WIN
$2.40 (4 units)
Race 9: Gilgai Stakes Group 2 1200m - 5:05pm (AEST)
(7) Royal Insignia is fitter being third up and he has the ability to run on very well in his races. After being 10th halfway through the Bobbie Lewis he made up many lengths late to run 4th beaten 1.3L. Is big odds, will get back again and will be one of the best late.
(2) Airman settled a little close than he usually does in the Bobbie Lewis and ran well for 5th. Is big odds, gets the blinkers on and will be running on again.
(8) Nadal hasn’t done his best racing at Flemington previously but the Dry grounds suits. Won well at Cranbourne 2 starts back and he is another who will be storming home late. Interesting race which will see many winning chances with 100m to go.
(7) Royal Insignia Each-Way
$18/$4.50 (0.50 units)
Race 10: Paris Lane Stakes 1400m - 5:40pm (AEST)
(7) Warnie gets the inside barrier here so he will save some ground in this event. He likes this track and the each-way quote of $7.50 looks enticing. He is more than capable in Listed races and Ben Melham has been rewarded with the ride for the first time. He has started at similar odds the last 2 starts but he is fitter now and is drawn well.
(11) Enexuto loves Dry tracks and will be running on at the end. Has won 2 from 4 races over the 1400m.
(9) Media World has drawn wide in 13 and is the popular favourite and is probably the best horse in the race. May want a little rain on the day which he is unlikely to get.
(7) Warnie Each-Way
$7.50/$2.50 (1 unit)
