Thunderbet, a small online sports betting site run by John Patton and Andrew Price, is the latest Australian sports betting site to be acquired with Marantelli Bet taking over operations effective from May 29th.
Thunderbet had was launched in early 2023, based out of the Murrumbidgee Turf Club in Wagga.
A notice was sent out to all customers to indicate that accounts and balances would be transferred across to Marantelli Bet next week.
“All open bets will be honoured and payouts actioned as events are finalised,” said a representative of Thunderbet.
Marantelli Bet, the Victorian-based operation set up by Gavin Marantelli, continues to strengthen its position in the Australian sports betting landscape. With over 50 years of experience, an excellent range of betting markets and a quality betting platform, Marantelli Bet is an emerging sportbook looking to contend with the bigger operators.
