Dallas Mavericks at Washington Wizards

The Mavericks had mixed results in their travel to New Orleans, exchanging wins and losses with the Pelicans. Regardless, it’s been a heck of a start to the season for the Mavs who have arguably the deadliest backcourt in the league. They’ll now head to the nation’s capital with a 4-2 road record and will be expecting to improve that record. Meanwhile, the Wizards continue to entertain without getting the desired results. They looked home and hosed against the Raptors last start but ultimately lost the unlosable. Needless to say, the Mavs will start this clash on the road as the favourites and for justifiable reasoning. They’re the far superior outfit and I’m expecting them to capitalise with a comfortable win on Thursday.

Minnesota Timberwolves at Phoenix Suns

The Timberwolves were able to frank their strong form once again with a road double against the Warriors, beating them twice to improve on their strong start to the season. They were made to work in the second outing against the heavily-undermanned opposition, but were eventually able to come away with yet another win. They now continue their road trip when they head to Phoenix to take on a Suns team that’s yet to hit their lofty standards so far this campaign. However, the Suns are expected to roll out all three of their stars for the first time this season, with Devin Booker likely to return from injury to join Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant on the court. In my opinion, this is the perfect time for the Suns to shine in the Valley, as they’ll be playing an opposition in the Timberwolves that have had a busy schedule on the road. If at full strength, the Suns should be able to come away with a solid victory.

Sacramento Kings at Los Angeles Lakers

The Sacramento Kings will enter this road trip full of confidence after going 3-0 in their recent home stay. They defeated two quality outfits in their most recent games in the Thunder and the Cavaliers and both were by healthy double-digit margins. Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Lakers are riding a three-game win streak of their own with two wins coming at home and the other on the road against a depleted Suns team. Still, the Lakers have a lot to prove considering the undermanned Suns are the only noteworthy scalp they’ve taken this campaign. With that considered, I’m backing in a minor upset here by taking the Kings to continue their hot form with another good win against good opposition.
