Houston Rockets at Milwaukee Bucks

The Houston Rockets have surprised many with their competitiveness this season and enter Monday’s slate on a five-game win streak, which almost matches their six-game run they went on earlier this season. Admittedly, they’ve done the bulk of their damage on home soil and against lesser opposition, but they have sprinkled in some seriously impressive wins as well. Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks are riding a three-game win streak of their own, all of which have been on their home deck, They’ve now secured 11 straight wins at the Fiserv Forum and the majority of those have been by handy margins. And as good as the Rockets have been of late, I still fancy the Bucks to record another strong win in this one.

Washington Wizards at Phoenix Suns

The Washington Wizards were able to snap a six-game losing run with a win over the Pacers in a 137-123 shootout last start. That made it just four wins from 24 games for the Wizards this season, They now head on the road where they’ve lost eight of their last nine, with their only win coming against a Pistons side who are one of the worst teams we’ve seen for quite some time. Elsewhere, the Phoenix Suns have struggled to generate any meaningful momentum and went 0-2 in recent games with their big three. Bradley Beal will be inactive once again for this clash, which isn’t necessarily a big negative considering his recent play. After a couple of losses in a row, the Suns will be desperate to bounce back with a big win, and what an opportunity they have with the Wizards coming to town. This one should be over in three quarters.

Golden State Warriors at Portland Trail Blazers

The Golden State Warriors entered this season with a championship on their mind, but they’ve had to adjust their expectations accordingly due to their form to date. Their older heads can’t help but bark at referees and fight with opposition players, and you would expect there will be some personnel changes sooner rather than later as a result. The Warriors now hit the road where they’ve lost seven on the spin to take on the rebuilding Portland Trail Blazers. And while you would usually expect a game like this to be one-sided in favour of the Warriors, their recent struggles suggest this could end up being a dog fight.
