Race 1 - #12 Very Dogmatic @ $9.50
A busy race here matching up form lines and trying to estimate the improvement some of the lightly raced brigade can show. Suggesting only a small each-way play on Very Dogmatic who's up in class here but needs to continue to show improvement to figure in the finish.
Race 2 - #1 Sly Romance @ $6
By default we look at Sly Romance at the price because Bullish Stock at $1.50 is just far too short. Our betting strategy here is actually a boxed first four though with the top four numbers in the race book.
Race 3 - #1 Miss Gidget @ $10 **best value**
A ripping each way bet here is Miss Gidget who's raced in much better company than this over her short career. The first-up run was full of merit and she'll improve nicely off that effort into this race. Hard to see her not running well after looking at the map. Perfect 1 x 3 bet.
Race 4 - #2 Canny Rocket @ $3.20
One of the better bets of the night here in Canny Rocket who won on debut for the Weir stable first-up. His prior form up in Sydney was solid and he should be able to go through his grades a little bit in these summer months. Very winnable race.
Race 5 - #4 Military @ $19
Massive price this horse in a small field. His best has him in the finish, has mixed form lately but racing without luck in most recent efforts. There isn't a lot of value in the race otherwise and he looks a nice and small speculative play.
Race 6 - #1 Anemoi @ $6.50
Open race with a full capacity field at time of writing. Anemoi looks a horse who can improve third-up here and up in distance. The run last start was full of merit and he maps well enough in this race.
Race 7 - #7 Lunar Spin @ $3.60 **best bet**
Lunar Spin is our best bet of the night at Moonee Valley. Broke through this track and distance last start and now fully fit can go on with it. Maps to get the dream run and will be very hard to beat.
Race 8 - #2 Az Given @ $17 each way
One of our best roughies for the night. A noted unlucky horse who has drawn inside and should be able to sit nice and handy from the inside draw and the horse has run well both times at this track. We've rated a single figure chance and looks a ripping 1 x 3 bet at current price.
