Welcome to our horse racing preview and betting tips for racing on Thursday, October 24th.
There's three Eastern States race meetings on Thursday, coming to us from Ballarat, Hawkesbury and Ipswich. Luke Krahe has done the form for all three meetings and given his best bets for each track below!
Horse Racing Tips: Thursday, October 24th
Ballarat Race 1 (Market)
(7) Little Stevie has only been to the races once, that was dix months ago where she debuted at Benalla at double figure odds. She over-raced early, copped a check and was pratted wide. She never got in and stuck on well to place beaten under 3 lengths. She was sent straight to the paddock and resumes today but hasn’t been to the official trials but has had three jump-outs in preparation. The latest of those was at Flemington where she jumped fairly, was eased to fourth in the five-horse field, given a clip at the turn and really ran through the line well. She gets the tongue-tie on, drawn well and hopefully Damian Lane just positions up on the speed. She looks to have come back well and ready to go first-up. (5) Flostar will most likely start the favourite after racing much harder than this at her first prep, she is drawn awkwardly on the inside and happy to take her on fresh.
Ballarat Race 7 (Market)
(7) Diamond Bliss has been very consistent throughout her 8-start career, she is still yet to win out of maiden grade but has another four placings to her name. She resumed at Seymour in a Class 1three weeks ago, was mid-field in the run before swinging wide, loomed up and looked the winner but her condition may have just given way late. That only win she has to her name, came second-up which she is today and looks beautifully drawn in two. Again, we get D Lane steering, she is likely to be giving them a start but there looks a stack of speed on paper and she gets out to 1200m which looks ideal.
Hawkesbury Race 5 (Market)
It looks an open race on paper and the Hawkesbury track can often be a graveyard for favourites and well-backed runners. Looking for some value, (5) Fight For Love should be huge odds and happy to be on her each-way from the wide alley. She has had two runs back this prep, she resumed at Newcastle on the Beaumont track, led and ran them along before running out of condition late and walked the last furlong. She was then at Goulburn last time and sat worse than mid-field, hit the line hard to place beaten under 2 lengths in a race that has produced two subsequent winnners. This is the first time that she has been three runs deep into a prep, Jay Ford will have some options early, hopefully he eases her back for cover, sitting three-wide with a saddle to follow should be ideal and getting wide and running over the top.

Ipswich Race 5 (Market)
(2) Von Rosen has been up for a while but the Love Conquers All mare is racing so well. She has a stack of speed and looks perfectly drawn out wide where she can muster early to try and cross and be on the bunny. She has her last two at Kilcoy when up on the speed, a place you really need to be around that tight track. She has been here twice to Ippy, four runs back she sat outside the leader in maiden grade before hitting the accelerator at the top of the straight and brained them by 3 lengths. She placed at her other run here, she has won three of last four and the only failure she led and the inside was not the place to be at the Gold Coast three back. If she jumps away, hopefully she is just too quick for them again?
