Racing takes place at six venues in Australia. Luke Krahe has found some confident selections at Grafton, Warrnambool and Pakenham, including one currently at $3.80 that he believes should be odds-on!

Horse Racing Tips: Thursday, February 20th
Grafton Race 1 - (Market)
(2) Tickets For Youth has a poor overall record with only the one win from 21 career starts, but U like the way he has progressed this campaign. HE has worked through the distances thus campaign from 1200m to the 2200m last start, finally getting out to something more suitable. He was last on the rails in the run, made his run a long way out and well before the turn. he got into second at the top of the straight and chased hard. He was beaten 2.5 lengths into second but it was almost 9 lengths back to third! That race was on a sit track, he would only need to repeat that to win. The danger will be (6) Rival Mo who is a last start wet-track winner at this grade here at the track. She has the inside gate and may be caught up in traffic when the runs come, she looks poison odds early.

Grafton Race 4 - (Market)
(6) Allied Invasion is a 7-start maiden, he has shown that the first win isn’t far away placing at three of the last four. He has good tactical speed and with the blinkers off again, hopefully is ridden positively and goes forward. Last start at Murwillunbah he was on the speed for a long way before getting beaten narrowly into second. The race has proven a good form reference, the winner has won out of maiden grade and a horse that was beaten almost 2 lengths has bolted in to win a maiden on the Gold Coast. Black figures look a gift, if he does land on the bunny and funds the rail first, go again in the run, they won’t be getting past him.

Warrnambool Race 2 - (Market)
I am really surprise that there is as much as $3.80 available about (9) Silesian at the time of writing, I really thought he would have been close to red figures. He debuted at Benalla three weeks ago, was mid-filed in the run before sweeping very wide and kept working to the line nicely into third. Two horses that were beaten a long way in that Benalla maiden have since come out and won, so the form lines look good. The Maher/Eustace stable can really get one to improve early in their career, the biggest worry may be the first-starter from the same stable? If there is no money for (8) Dr Schultz, I expect that Silesian will start a lot shorter than what is currently available.
Pakenham Race 4 - (Market)
(9) Wilson Won has only been to the races once, that was at Bendigo two weeks ago. He settled mid-field over the 1100m and although he never looked the winner, ran unto third nicely. It took him a while to balance up but once he did, he was good through the line. He jumps out to the 1400m at his second start and looks to have some upside, tough to know if the trip will suit but at the double figure odds, I am willing to find out on an each-way basis. (7) Relucent looks hard to beat and obviously has some class, he was really good through his first prep but may need further, he was right out to the 2500m of the VIC Derby last start.
