Scone Race 2 (Market)
(2) Rose Of Savannah has featured in these best bets before for us and disappointed, this looks the easiest of the 9 starts that she has contested and her real chance to break the maiden status. She has placed in 4 of those 9, two runs back this prep have been fair in much harder races. She resumed at Hawkesbury and sat outside the leader and was the first beaten, she then went to Gosford and got a mile back before chasing ok late on the heavy track. That has been more her pattern during her short career, getting back and making ground late, but in this grade from the good draw I can see her positioning up mid-field. The horse that finished third in that Gossy maiden has since come out and won at Hawkesbury yesterday, and the second horse has run a nice race since narrowly missing. She seems to handle the conditions well enough, if she doesn’t win this you won’t see her name in these tip sheets any time soon.

Scone Race 8 (Market)
(4) Flying Cosmos has been to the races 9 times for just the two placings, three of those runs this campaign. Two back when second-up she was here at the track, was well back in the run and wide, over-racing badly before winding up and running on strongly but well beaten by an impressive one. That winner has since come out and run second out of maiden grade and the horse finishing third has come out and won down the Highway at Muswellbrook, so the form lines look good. She then went to Gunnedah and had specking late at double figure odds, got well back again and ran on well on the smaller track. She is drawn poorly but importantly gets the blinkers back on, coming back on the bigger track she should run on hard at huge odds.

Echuca Race 4 (Market)
(6) Think About Me has placed at 5 of his 8 career starts, including his last 4. His combined losing margin over those 4 races is just over 4.5 lengths which shows his consistency. You know what you will get with him, he is a a front-running type that will land on the bunny and try and go from wire to wire. There are a couple of horses that may have more upside than him getting out to the trip for the first time and only lightly raced, such as (4) Hutchinson and (2) Byalip. I can see him getting a picnic in front and that’s a good spot to be around here, especially in staying maiden races. The last race he contested was a Highweight race where they are typical plodders, he was no different and he won’t want to turn this into a sit and sprint or they will leave him behind when they dash. He will need to keep the foot on the throttle from about the 800 and make it a tru staying test. Play each-way if that’s your go as he should be better than evens money the place and looks a good bet to nothing.
Rockhampton Race 4 (Market)
A capacity field of 16 lines up for this maiden over 7 furlongs, but they all get their chance on this big run in here at Rocky. (2) Deejaybeat is an 8-start maiden that has only had one run in the north for the new yard. He raced well at his first two starts this campaign at Lismore and the Gold Coast before changing stables. Last start was at Mackay, he settled mid-field and run on well but just found one better when beaten as favourite. The horse that finished third day a length and a half back from him has since come out and bolted in by more than 2 lengths there at Mackay. He has the wide draw and will get back, but with that run under his belt and the long run home, he should finish to well.
