Welcome to our horse racing preview and betting tips for racing on Friday, December 20th.
There's been a number of meetings abandoned today with extreme heat right around the country, but there's still racing at Lismore! Luke Krahe has picked out his two best bets on the card below.
Horse Racing Tips: Friday, December 20th
Lismore Race 4 (Market)
(4) Diddly Dee was favourite winning her maiden at Quirindi two starts back, doing it easily. She then went to Muswellbrook three weeks ago and took on the girls at Class 1 level, she was well backed, again starting favourite. She had a nice easy mid-field run on the rails, saved ground on the turn before a gap appeared. She showed great acceleration to hit the front and looked the winner before being swamped late in a blanket finish. She has the inside gate again here will have to do no work, Kris Lees must be respected when he brings one here to Lismore. As always with meetings around this area, the form can be hard to line-up with horses travelling down from SE Qld combining with local and mid-north coast runners.
Lismore Race 6 (Market)
(5) Westrock is a Matty Dunn trained gelding that had been racig poorly to start this prep. He was beaten out of sight at Grafton and on the Gold Coast over a two week period. He then sent the gelding to Beaudesert and he was very heavily backed, starting deep in the red. He began well, led and railed like a greyhound to bolt in. That may have just been the confidence booster he needed, Robbie Fradd retains the ride, from the wide draw he should be looking for the top again. (4) Prince of Arran (no not that one) had been racing consistently before breaking through for another win last start, I can’t see him getting the same cheap run in transit here and he is up in grade.
