Match Preview
The Giants and the Dockers are set for a big Saturday afternoon showdown in Sydney, and this one could have serious top-eight implications. With both teams sitting in the finals mix — GWS currently in 8th place and Fremantle in 11th — there's plenty riding on this Round 10 contest at ENGIE Stadium. It's a clash of styles too, with the Giants' attacking flair going up against the Dockers' methodical, defensive approach.
The Giants are riding high after a thrilling 16.9 (105) to 14.17 (101) victory over Geelong at GMHBA Stadium in Round 9. Jesse Hogan was instrumental, kicking seven goals and showcasing his prowess against his former club. Tom Green also stood out with 37 disposals, reinforcing his status as a midfield powerhouse.
In contrast, the Dockers are looking to rebound after a challenging period. They suffered a 61-point loss to St Kilda in Round 8 and followed it up with a defeat to Collingwood at home in Round 9. Jamie Elliott's six-goal haul for the Magpies highlighted Fremantle's defensive vulnerabilities.
Darcy Jones and Toby Bedford both come back into the side for the Giants this week, adding an injection of pace and flair into the midfield and forward of the ball. For the Dockers, Sean Darcy will miss after suffering an injury setback to the knee against the Pies last week. Bailey Banfield will be his replacement.
Rain has been abundant in Sydney throughout the week and more showers are forecasted on Saturday. The wet conditions could influence the game's dynamics. A slippery surface may favor the Dockers here, given they already play a pretty defensive, contested style of play. Given the weather and the Dockers play style, I’m definitely leaning towards the unders here, which looks a tad high at 174.5.

Tom Green, Caleb Serong, Andrew Brayshaw all to have 25+ Disposals Each - Going with a pretty simple same game multi here as I think the conditions will play to the contested ball midfielders and I’m hesitant to lean to any goalscorers in the wet.
Between the three of them rank inside the top 17 in the league for contested possessions this season, and between them they average 89.9 touches per game. Between them this season, the have racked up at least 25 touches in 22/26 games.
