Gold Coast Racing Tips: Saturday, May 10th 2025
Race 4: Australian Turf Club Trophy – 1200m – 2:18pm (AEST)
(3) Boom Torque: 5YO Gelding who boasts a pretty tidy record and absolutely loves 1200m with five of seven career wins coming from this trip. The only query with him today is the wet track and he is yet to win when resuming. He has trialled well leading in, so will have some conditioning, but probably want to see a run first. Worth thought though.
(4) Infancy: 4YO Mare who was terrific first up over this trip at Randwick where she was supported in the betting pre-race too. Travels up for this and rates nicely. J-Mac jumps into the saddle and he has to be considered again. Happy to have.
(10) Midnight In Tokyo: Roughie of the field who goes well fresh and over this trip. Handles the wet better than the dry and must be considered off last campaigns efforts. Wouldn’t be surprised if she took this out at odds. Sniff
Race 7: Tab A.D. Hollindale Stakes - 1800m – 4:08pm (AEST)
(1) Antino: 6YO Gelding who was rather disappointing when returning in the all aged. He boasts a handy second up record and will only be improving. Yet to win beyond the mile being the only concern, but clearly a talented type who deserves respect. Top rated and if he can overcome the wide draw and find a nice spot throughout he must be considered.
(3) Lindermann: 5YO Gelding who has been sound in all of his runs this time in and has been coming up against VIA SISTINA in most of his runs and hasn’t been beaten all that far. Gets a race without VIA SISTINA now and will be rock hard fit. Sticky gate, but with some luck Nash steers him correctly and he will be in the finish. Goes well over 1800m and handles the soft deck. Chance.
(8) Eliyass: Resuming 6YO Gelding who has a sensational record with 9 wins from 14 career runs and 3 other placings. She is terrific when fresh and when on the weather effected tracks. Unbeaten from the one attempt over this trip and the Tim CLARK / WATERHOUSE combo is dangerous. He draws a lovely alley and the race is set up nicely for him to be a main contender. Have to be on at the price. Value
(8) Eliyass E/W
$7.50/$2.40 (1u/2u)
Race 9: XXXX Bat Out Of Hell Qlty - 1000m – 5:30pm (AEST)
(2) Wanda Rox: Very honest mare who has been sensational in all three runs and was only narrowly beaten last start. Her record is outstanding with 15 from 19 career runs being in the quinella. She will once again have plenty of admirers and looks to be the main danger. Draws well and Callow to steer is no disadvantage. On top.
(8) Economics: 5YO Gelding who was handy winning last start over this trip lugging 61kg. Gets in light for this and will only be fitter. Low draw should allow him to try and dictate out in front and give them something to catch. Chance.
(10) Super Daisy: Roughie of the field. This mare raced very well first and second up before tackling this grade most recently and struggled a little bit. Gets a handy barrier and handles the wet, so must be considered on fresh form.
