The Group 3 Standish Handicap highlights thoroughbred racing at Flemington on Saturday on what should be a good day of action. Hedged is the current favourite for the Bedggood stable and the main race starts at 4:35pm (AEDT). The first of 10 starts at 12:20pm (AEDT), and my best three bets of the day are below!

Flemington Racing Tips: Saturday, January 10th 2026
Race 1: TAB We’re On 1600m - 12:20pm (AEDT)
(6) Our Chief remains with Jamie Melham on top after the pair combined for a 3rd at Cranbourne on December 27. The Danny O’Brien trained gelding races over the mile for the first time and from barrier 3 he should get a gun run after he was trapped a little wide last time which cost him a length or two. Did win at Geelong last year when second up.
(2) Flying Done led and won on a Good4 track last time and from barrier 2 will likely go forward again. Going for three on the bounce and he has already won over the 1600m.
(1) Jenni Gone Bonkers came from well back to score last start at Pakenham and that was on a Good4 too. The worry here is that she may get too far back. Senior jockey in Mark Zahra hops o.
(6) Our Chief WIN
$3.20 (2 units)
Race 7: Henry Byron Moore Handicap 1600m - 3:55pm (AEDT)
(12) Knobelas has drawn well in 2 and can turn the tables after last start where he just missed when running on well behind Peter Moody & Kathrine Coleman’s Roadcone. He has been drawing good barriers and has done again. The last two starts he has drawn inside and settled 3rd in the run and after drawing barrier 2 here he will settle in a similar position. Is fitter now.
(7) Sneaky Sunrise was a beaten fav last start when 2nd at Caulfield Heath. Dan Stackhouse is on and he has a good association with this mare. Is consistent and is a good Place chance at $2.10,
(8) Hiyaam Proud has drawn wide in 10 but did run a good 2nd when we were on at Cranbourne last start. Is fit, has a senior jockey on again (Luke Currie) but hasn’t won in more than 13 months.
(12) Knobelas WIN
$2.40 (3 units)
Race 8: Standish Handicap 1200m - 4:35pm (AEDT).
(5) Hedged scored the win in the XMAS Stakes at Lakeside on Boxing Day and we are sticking with him. Is a previous Flemington winner and he has won over this distance previously. Harry Coffey stays on after winning on top last time and he should be able to position him up and settle him in about 4th position again. Hooked out wide last start and may appreciate the room of the Flemington home straight again.
(9) Major Share has won 4 from 9 starts on Good tracks and gets weight relief in this race after finishing 2.4L behind Hedged last start. Will probably settle a pair in front of Hedged and will want a slowly run race.
(2) Lim’s Kosiciuszko hasn’t won in a long time but has been running well recently. He led and was only beaten 2.8L (7th) behind Private Eye in the Group 1 Supernova and he will likely go forward again. Does his best racing on Dry tracks.
(5) Hedged WIN
$4.00 (2 units)
