EPL Matchday 21 Betting Tips
Manchester City vs Sheffield United
Etihad Stadium, Sunday 2am AEDT
Manchester City are absolutely rolling at the moment and it’s their title to lose from now on. They’re currently on a seven-game winning streak where they’ve only conceded one goal and are also now 11 matches unbeaten. The Citizens sit atop of the EPL ladder with a game in hand.
Sheffield United did the near impossible and clinched a win at Old Trafford midweek and gave some life to their survival hopes. The Blades remain the serious favourites to be relegated at the end of the season due to their position, but they’ll be hopeful that their recent scalp will lead to some more success.
The Blades are coming off a win against one Manchester team, but the other that they face this weekend is in scintillating form. Try all they want, but the Citizens will be winning this game and doing it in fancy style in our opinion.
Arsenal vs Manchester United
Emirates Stadium, Sunday 4:30am AEDT
Arsenal have turned the corner since their 3-1 win over Chelsea, reeling off four wins and a draw in their five games since. It’s been an important stretch for the maligned Gunners and they’ve now moved into ninth spot on the ladder and are just three points outside the top six.
Manchester United’s huge unbeaten run came to an end midweek in an unlikely loss against Sheffield United. The Red Devils never really got going against the bottom-of-the-table Blades and will need to bounce back strongly to stay in touch with the title race. They’re only one point behind Manchester City in first, but United have also played an extra game.
Most fixtures that include either Arsenal or Manchester United guarantee plenty of goals and we expect this to be no different. Both clubs will be going hard for the win here, so expect an entertaining game that can go either way.
Brighton & Hove Albion vs Tottenham Hotspur
Amex Stadium, Monday 6:15am AEDT
Brighton were unable to take advantage of playing at home against the lowly Fulham last time out and it could end up hurting them in the long run. The Gulls have now won just once in their past 11 league fixtures and are sitting precariously in 17th spot on the ladder.
Tottenham also missed a trick midweek when they lost 3-1 with an out-of-form Liverpool outfit. The Spurs were coming off a tidy 3-1 win against Sheffield but their recent loss is one that will sting as they’ve now dropped to sixth on the table and are eight points behind the league leaders in Manchester City.
Despite losing last time out, Tottenham are by far the better team of these two clubs and we’re surprised to see them at more than $2 to secure a win at the Amex. Providing they play at something close to their best football, the Spurs will be winning this match with little to no problems.
