Eagle Farm Racing Tips: Saturday, December 27th 2025
Race 2: Nova 106.9 BM78 2400m - 1:53pm (AEDT)
(1) Sun Worshipper: she looks a nice each-way play in a typically competitive staying race in QLD. She was terrific three back over 2200m when she jumped on terms with them before settling midfield behind a very strong tempo (they went 13L faster than average to the 600m mark) when she was forced to make a sustained run from about the 500m mark and got within 1.7L of KALUAKOI who sat in behind the leader (went enormous / beat the rest easily). She dropped back to 2000m two-back when she settled worse than midfield from a wide gate before angling to the outside and sprinting quickly to get the money (zipped home 4.3L faster than average for the final 600m / fastest 6-400m 4-200m and L200m splits of the race / WIREWALKER since won and GALIFIANAKIS since run well). She stepped back out to 2200m LS and was given no hope as she settled last from another wide gate and gave away too big of a head start turning for home (hit the line strongly / came home 4.4L faster than average for the final 600m / ties in with RATTLE AND HUM). She’s clearly the best horse in the race, she gets in well at the weights after the claim, we know she’ll stay the trip and be strong at the end of 2400m, she’s rock hard fit, and I think they’ll settle midfield from the gate. If she’s close enough turning for home, she can win
(3) Rattle and Hum: the obvious danger who comes through the same race as SUN WORSHIPPER. He’ll still improve fourth up from a spell, he meets SUN WORHSIPPER 1kg better at the weights after beating her home LS, and he’ll make his own luck rolling along in front. If he gets a soft time of things, he’ll be hard to get past.
(8) Farwest: he doesn’t win out of turn, but I think he’ll run well here. He looks like he wants every bit of 2400m now after hitting a flat spot turning for home over 2212m LS and then surging late to just miss SIR LAMORAK (also here) and he’ll still improve being fourth up too (meets SIR LAMORAK 2kgs better at the weights as well). Needs some luck from the gate.

$6.00/$2.20 (1U/2U)
Race 5: Doreen Bird BM85 1000m - 3:38pm (AEDT)
(1) Belegato: it was a super return first up over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast when he camped in behind the leaders before angling over heels to beat home all bar HIDDEN WEALTH who really knuckled down late to get the better of him (beat the rest easily / FLEETWOOD since won / LOHNRO’S QUEEN and LIQUOR since ran well / second fastest 4-200m split of the meeting). He has a good record at this track/trip, any rain around that gets us into the soft range is a bonus, and I think he maps to sit right behind the leaders before having last crack at them. The last time he went around this track/trip he was a dominant winner with 60kgs on his back in BM78 grade. Expect him to improve with the run under his belt and be fighting out the finish
(8) Port Erin: resumes after 3 months off and an excellent trial 3-weeks ago (worked to the line strongly without being tested / looked to have plenty in the locker). Goes well at Eagle Farm, has a good fresh record, and draws an ideal gate to settle better than midfield. Nice value play.
(4) Pre Eminence: he returns after a 70-day break and a trial over 1000m two weeks ago that was a handy piece of work as he finished alongside Taltarni Fields who’s also here. He has a good fresh record, he handles all conditions, and he’s 1 from 1 at this track/trip. First up last prep he was a dominant winner over 1000m at Toowoomba on Weetwood Day beating Bossed Up et al by 2.6L with 60kgs on his back. Danger.

Race 9: Ladbrokes Mega Multi BM70 1200m- 6:10pm (AEDT)
(3) Scripted: she’s the best bet of the day! She won her first two career starts in 2024 before being sent to the paddock for 434 days. She had a number of trials during that time, including two over 1010m that were really nice pieces of work prior to her resumption over 1000m at Eagle Farm two-weeks ago. She was a little tardy away LS and settled last in transit behind an even tempo before getting to the outside and savaging the line to get within 0.6L of YOYO YEEZY (beat home key rival BARBERRY SPUR easily / zoomed home 8.6L faster than average for the final 600m / fourth fastest 4-200m and third fastest L200m splits of the meeting). She’ll take good improvement from that run, getting out to 1200m looks ideal, and I note Andrew Mallyon sticks with her over SAXOBUSHI. If she can get some luck from the gate, she’s clearly the one to beat. Keen
(10) Saxobushi: he was sound first up over 1050m at Toowoomba when he was run off his legs early before working home OK. He went to 1100m LS where he settled next to last behind a fast tempo before angling between runners and knuckling down hard to nail Exceloquent in the last few strides (third fastest L200m split of the meeting). Getting out to 1200m third-up is a big tick, he draws gate 1, and Jason Collett partners up with Kris Lees. Wary.
(4) Barberry Spur: must have a case if Scripted does. He was good first up finishing second to Bossed Up over 1000m (hot form race with 5 subsequent winners) before being well supported LS (SP’d $2.90) and failing to live up to expectation (hit a flat spot turning for home but had the second fastest L200m split of the race which suggests getting out to 1200m is a plus). He’ll have a map advantage on Scripted and meets that runner 1kg better at the weights. He can bounce back.
(3) Scripted WIN
