Caulfield Heath will host midweek racing at Melbourne this week and it's not a bad meeting either with some leading stables producing some likely types. The track is predicted to be a Soft 7 and the first of eight is to start at 1:25pm (AEDT) with a smart maiden going around in the (8) Sketch. Caulfield Heath is first up for 2 months and it will be interesting if there is a race shape pattern on the day.

Caulfield Heath Racing Tips: Wednesday, November 12th 2025
Race 1: Sportsbet Jockey Watch Plate 1600m - 1:25pm (AEDT)
(8) Sketch looks the goods here on the back of a nice 3rd at Ballarat last start where she ran on very nicely from the 200m. She drops a kilogram and gets a senior jockey in Craig Williams on which is a positive. The daughter of Brazen Beau looks suited to the mile.
(1) Icaro was well supported when 7th at Cranbourne last start and she did make up some ground in the final 100m. If the market is with her again she is a big consideration. Hasn’t placed yet and Lachlan King rides.
(7) Racey Casey settled handy for Jamie Edwards and finished 2nd at Sale last start on a Soft6. Gets similar conditions again.
(8) Sketch WIN
$2.00 (3 units)
Race 3: Sportsbet Feed Handicap 1000m - 2:35pm (AEDT)
(6) Egerton has drawn the inside for the Cliff Brown stable and the lightly raced mare would like an upgrade to a Soft 5 or 6 to increase her chances even more. She has won twice before over the 1000m and she has won first up before and this time she has had two nice jumpouts leading into this. She has won at Caulfield Heath before and ran well when 2nd.
(3) Close To Midnight is 1 from 1 on Soft tracks and is also first up. The problem here though is she hasn’t won in 15 months. Won a Flemington jumpout on October 31 and gets the claim here.
(8) Cavern settled 2nd and then scored the win on debut and Luke Currie stays on for the Hayes boys. Stays at the 1000m but does have a tricky barrier in 10.
(6) Egerton WIN
$3.60 (2 units)
Race 7: ive Handicap 1200m - 4:55pm (AEDT)
(6) Prince Tycoon is second up and he should improve with his second look at the 1200m. He went to the lead and worked hard last time and Willow might try and lead again in this race. I reckon he should because this is a big class drop compared to the Group 3 Anchor Stakes last start. Napoleonic ran straight past him with 200m to go but he may become a Group 1 horse. The Prince did run a good race at Gold Coast on May 23 (2nd) and the $2.50 might get backed in.
(3) Dollar Chaser is experienced and over the odds. He has won twice before for Luke Nolen and he likes the 1200m having won over the distance three times prior.
(7) Untapped is first up for Greg Eurell and has won when first up before. The lightly raced gelding ran a good 2nd in a trial on October 20 at Cranbourne and he has a first and second to his name over this distance already.
(6) Prince Tycoon WIN
$2.50 (3 units)
