Hobart host the struggling Heat this Friday night as both teams come into this match off a last game defeat. Both teams currently sit in the bottom half of the table and will be looking to put in a good performance here to make a push for the top 4.
The Hurricanes come into this game off a heavily reduced match due to rain against the Stars which can’t be used as too much of a marker looking forward. The Heat on the other hand have only notched the single win in their four games so far. Both teams are really struggling to put together consistent scores and that has been the achilles heel for both teams so far. The Hurricanes have failed to score 150+ in any of their four games so far and the Heat have only scored over 150 once in their four matches. Both teams will be out to change that here.

BBL09 Hurricanes vs Heat Betting Tips
Hobart Hurricanes
How can you go away from Short here? While he was caught for a duck against the Stars it was an uncharacteristic shot from him, away from that he has a 51 off 40 against the Sixers and a 60 off 45 in their win over the Hurricanes. He has maintained an average above 40 in his BBL career and he is the Hurricanes need to post a big score. Look for Short to post another big score here against a Heat squad that have conceded on average just over 162 runs a game.

Brisbane Heat
With an absolute batting collapse last game, the Heat had their top two run scorers as their last two batsmen and still managed three sixes in their 109 total, bringing their total match sixes up to 31 for the tournament. For a team that has only cleared 150 once so far that is a team who knows how to clear the rope. Compare that to the Hurricanes 10 they have scored in their four matches and it is a statistical no brainer. The big hitting of Banton, Bryant, Lynn, Renshaw, Peirson and cutting should allow for a sixes total beyond reach of the Hurricanes.
Prediction
Last time these teams met the Hurricanes were dominant and cruised to a nine-wicket victory with over five overs to spare but there is no Jofra Archer anymore for the Hurricanes. This really is a game of which top order can come through as both have collapsed badly at times this year and Short and Lynn are the X-Factors for their respective teams. The Heat have made a bad habit of dropping consecutive quick wickets and they travel to Hobart knowing that they desperately need to win if they are a chance of BBL finals and I think they will get it here. The Hurricanes are incredibly reliant on Short and on paper the depth of the Heats squad should be too much for the Hurricanes here.
