Australia vs India 4th T20 Preview & Betting Tips

Canberra, Thursday 6th November, 7.15pm AEDT

Australia

SquadMitchell Marsh (c), Tim Davis, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Mitchell Owen, Josh Philippe, Matthew Short, Sean Abbott, Marcus Stoinis, Xavier Bartlett, Nathan Ellis, Josh Hazlewood, Matthew Kuhnemann, Tanveer Sangha

Australia will take mixed emotions into Game 4. On one hand, the batting was outstanding in Game 3. Marcus Stoinis and Tim David produced trademark power hitting exhibitions, blasting 64 off 39 and 74 off 38 respectively. Their partnership turned a steady platform into a dominant total of 186 for 6, showcasing the blueprint of this new look Aussie white ball side: big bodies, big swings and big scores when conditions suit. Matt Short also looked threatening down the order, hinting that this batting unit still has gears to go.

On the other hand, Australias bowling lost control at key moments. Nathan Ellis again showed his value with 3 for 36, but too many boundary options were offered elsewhere and Indias chase never truly felt under stress. The seamers missed their death plans, slower balls sat up, and fielding intensity dipped just enough to open the door. Matthew Kuhnemann continues to fill the spin role and bowled tidy overs, but the unit collectively will want to tighten up, particularly in the final four overs where matches at this level are so often decided. Expect a sharper intent and more aggressive field settings early to wrestle back momentum.

India

SquadSuryakumar Yadav (c), Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson, Jitesh Sharma, Rinku Singh, Abhishek Sharma, Shivam Dube, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Axar PatelTilak Varma, Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy

Indias win in Game 3 was the type of professional chase that fuels belief deep inside a squad. Washington Sundars unbeaten 49 brought calmness and maturity to the middle order, guiding the innings with smart tempo and calculated aggression. Despite early wickets, India never panicked, instead building partnerships and turning the screw in the chase. Jitesh Sharma provided a spark with crisp stroke play, and the lower middle order again showed why this group is so dangerous there is always another hitter waiting.

With the ball, Arshdeep Singh set the tone immediately, removing key batters and finishing with three important wickets. The rest of the attack backed him up with disciplined lines designed to disrupt Australias rhythm. India will also be delighted with their energy in the field, cutting off angles and lifting intensity from ball one. With both the powerplay and death phases executed with precision, this looks like a side building nicely across roles and conditions. If they replicate that discipline and middle order composure, they will again be incredibly tough to contain in Canberra.

Match Prediction

On form alone, this feels like a genuine coin flip. Australia showed in Game 3 they can post winning totals against elite bowling attacks, but India demonstrated their ability to absorb pressure and chase with maturity and confidence. The key battleground again sits in the first ten overs when both sides look to assert control Australia through early power hitting, India through strike rotation and building toward a late innings surge.

The slight lean here is India to win Game 4, based on their composure under pressure and the stability of their middle order. That said, if Australia strike early and force India into rebuild mode, the momentum could flip quickly. Expect a high scoring contest, swings of momentum both ways and two teams that now understand each others rhythms. India look just a touch more settled at this point in the series, and that may be enough to tilt the night in their favour.
