Round 12 of the 2023 AFL season will be the first of four consecutive bye rounds. 14 teams will be in action this weekend and it all kicks off on Friday night with Melbourne vs Carlton at the MCG. That match is followed by a four-game slate on Saturday and two matches on Sunday. Brisbane, Fremantle, Sydney, and St Kilda are the four teams with a week off in Round 12.

2023 AFL Round 12 Expert Tips
Friday June 2nd
Round 12 begins at the home of footy with Melbourne vs Carlton at the MCG. The season hasn't gone to plan so far for the Blues, but a scalp on Friday night could be just what the doctor orderered. It should be a cracking match to being the weekend, and you can catch all the action on Kayo!
Saturday June 3rd
Port Adelaide will continue their quest for a top four spot on Saturday when they take on Hawthorn at Adelaide Oval. The Power have been a force on their home deck this season and will start as the red-hot favourites to defeat a rebuilding, but entertaining Hawks outfit.
West Coast have had the wood over Collingwood in recent years, but surely they will be totally outmatched and outclassed when the meet this Saturday afternoon. The Magpies will be expected to add to their growing win streak and maintain top spot on the AFL Ladder.
The Western Bulldogs have recovered from a slow start to the season and will eyeing off another scalp when they take on Geelong on Saturday night. Meanwhile, the Cats will be trying to secure a valuable win before their week off in Round 13. This has match of the round potential.
The final match to get underway on Saturday's four-game slate is Gold Coast vs Adelaide at TIO Stadium. Both clubs have had a similar first half of the season and are likely to be fighting for one of the last couple of spots in the top eight. It could be a sneaky good match to finish Super Saturday.
Sunday June 4th
Kicking off the two-game slate on Sunday will be GWS vs Richmond. The Giants have found wins hard to come by this season and four points here would be oh so valuable. Meanwhile, the Tigers are trying to adapt to life post-Hardwick.
The Bombers are a much-improved side in 2023 and now have a seemingly easy kill on their hands in Round 12. They'll take on the Kangaroos who haven't tasted success since Round 2. Surely the Bombers add another four points to their tally in this one?
