AFL Daily Fantasy Tips 2025: Round 21 Sunday

August 2nd 2025, 2:45pm, By: Jesse Penfold

AFL Fantasy Tips

Round 21’s Sunday AFL slate sees a return of the tradition three gamer that we all know and love. Things kick off with a daily fantasy spectacle between St Kilda and North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium. A total dead rubber game with a decent rotation of players coming in this game will only be for team fans and those of us salivating over fantasy scores. Then we move to the first game stacking option of the afternoon with Geelong hosting Port Adelaide down at GMHBA Stadium. The Cats are playing to try and land a top two spot while the Power are already shutting down players for the season. Finally, Fremantle will host Carlton over in Optus Stadium for the hammer game.

As always, this is all about the daily fantasy and this Sunday slate draws another massive $50,000 prize pool at Draftstars in their main contest. In addition, there are a variety of alternate contests:

AFL $50,000+ Sunday

AFL $5,000+ Sunday High Roller ($150 Entry)

AFL $3,000+ Sunday Mini ($2 Entry)

AFL Daily Fantasy Lineup Tips: Round 21 Sunday

AFL Fantasy Round 21 Sunday: Where to Attack?

The standout team to attack on this slate is North Melbourne right now. Over the last ten games they have given up the most points in the league to key forwards (at over 12 points per game above the league average) and the second most points to inside midfielders (at over 9 points per game above league average). Now it should be noted that last week’s game against the Cats would play a big role in this, but North are looking like they have totally checked out on the season at this point.

Port Adelaide are not offering any real standout positions to attack over this same period apart from attacking half back and general defenders. That said they have struggled against key forwards across the entire season and Geelong is just under 50 point favourites, which means huge game stacks will be in play. The challenge will be their prices are all up after last week.

Carlton are also a clear side to target as they are giving up above league average points to key forwards, general forwards and inside midfielders. The designated kicker is also a position where they are giving up the third most points in the league over the last 10 games. Fremantle are six goal favourites in this matchup and are another clear game stack option.

Game Scripts:

St Kilda midfielders and forwards / North backs

Geelong full game stack

Fremantle full game stack

AFL Fantasy Round 21 Sunday: Our Value Fantasy Picks

George Wardlaw ($9,710) will return to the senior team this week after a disappointing season thus far that has been disrupted by injury. He has played a solid base of two VFL games before returning this week, which means he should be fit and ready to go. There will be plenty of midfield opportunity this week and with the game being a bit of a dead rubber you can bet Wardlaw will still be going full tilt as usual and should take advantage fantasy wise.

Zane Duursma ($7,010) has been given a lifeline role across half back and while it didn’t result in huge scoring last week this still has the signs of a great value play at this price point. I like stacking up the North backs in this matchup against the Saints as the ball will likely be down their end plenty.

AFL Fantasy Round 21 Sunday: Our Mid Price Fantasy Picks

Shannon Neale ($10,360) has been in great form this year especially in the Cats big wins. As noted above Geelong are 50 point favourites in this matchup so whichever way you do it stacking up their forward line is a great strategy. Over the last six games Neale posted 109 points against North Melbourne, 85 points against Richmond and 89 points against Essendon, a real obvious trend there. If you are keen to spend up further, the obvious play is Jeremy Cameron ($13,950) who is coming of a 157 point game and will be gunning for goals in these blow outs to get towards 100 on the season.

AFL Fantasy Round 21 Sunday: Our Premium Fantasy Picks

Rowan Marshall ($16,670) will be matching up against inexperienced ruckman Brynn Teakle this week. This brings into play his ceiling scores of 140-160 as we have seen already this season. He is priced way up there but you can’t ignore matchups of this quality especially when the Saints are such heavy favourites at a scoring friendly ground like Marvel.

Colby McKercher ($14,180) has locked down that designated kicker role for North Melbourne, which going back to the Aaron Hall and Jack Ziebell days has been the coveted fantasy role in the AFL. During this period he has posted three games of 103+ from his last five matchups and a high floor of around 80+ points.

Here’s our Suggested Draftstars Lineup for AFL Round 21 Sunday

Draftstars Lineup

Weather Report for Sunday 3rd August

Marvel – Weather is always perfect on this ground

Geelong – 14 degrees and partly cloudy

Perth – 17 degrees and showers (up to 20mm)

All clear in Melbourne, but the hammer game is likely to be wet with huge amounts of rain expected all weekend in Perth. For that game it means look to the rucks, look to inside midfielders and any player who loves a tackle.
