AFL Round 14 features a sensational matchup this Friday night as Hawthorn and Adelaide will brave the cold at UTAS Stadium in Launceston. Adelaide are currently sitting in thrid spot on the ladder, just a single game ahead of the sixth placed Hawks. This game is huge for finals positioning and the Crows will be looking to really solidify their top four spot, while Hawks will be looking to keep touch with those teams.

AFL Hawks vs Crows: Where to Attack?
This matchup between two of the better teams in the league is a challenging one to identify areas to attack. Both sides are very stingy, especially the Crows who are giving up the fewest points in the league to key forwards, third fewest to general forwards, second fewest to inside midfielders and second fewest to rucks. If there is any position to attack against the Crows it has to come through the back line with general defenders and designated kickers the only two roles where they have slightly given up above average fantasy points.
The Hawks are not much different giving up below average points across all positions apart from ruck and the designated kicker. The other consideration will be the ground in Launceston as the Hawks will know the ground much better and are favourites to win.

AFL Hawks vs Crows: Our Value Fantasy Picks
Sam Butler ($7,910) / Henry Hustwaite ($7,860)
Sam Butler is a clear value play on this single game slate. He has been tearing it up in the VFL notching up three straight games of 107, 156 and 131 before being called up last week. He attended 33% of the Hawks centre bounces last week and scored 64 points. This week there will be further opportunity with James Worpel out being injured and this is where Henry Hustwaite comes in.
There is obviously a huge SUB WATCH on this play but if Hustwaite can get a full game, he is also in play at this price point. In his two full games this year he has posted 74 and 87 and has been given over 30% centre bounces in all three games this season.
Taylor Walker ($8,480) is just a nice upside play at this price point. He has been down on form in recent weeks but at the start of the year he posted a run of four 80+ point games in five matches. On a tough game for value options there is value in being able to hit a ceiling match here as the Hawks key in on the Crows other targets defensively.
AFL Hawks vs Crows: Our Mid-Priced Fantasy Picks
Josh Weddle ($11,250)… back to the well here has Weddle continues to post solid scores while playing off half back. He has four 80+ point games from his last six matches and generally scores better without Sicily playing. As noted above, the only area that you can target for fantasy scoring against the Crows is from the back line so I will be looking to stack up Hawks backs given this game is down at Launceston.
AFL Hawks vs Crows: Our Premium Fantasy Picks
Reilly O’Brien ($13,250) has one of the better matchups in this league in this matchup against Lloyd Meek with the Hawks giving up the 7th most points to rucks. O’Brien is averaging 100 points per game over his last three and posted two 120+ games in the last five matches.
Jordan Dawson ($16,250) is the top midfielder in this match. If I am spending premium money on a player in this matchup, he is by far the safest. He has posted 109, 139 and 138 from his last four outings and while there is no obvious area to target on this slate it has been much harder for mids to score against the Crows this year than the Hawks.
