AFL Lions vs Magpies Betting Tips

Brisbane will face Collingwood from the Gabba this Saturday in Round 21 of the AFL in a game of super importance for the Lions. PuntingInDanger has a full preview and betting tips for the clash as well as his same game multi pick below.

AFL Brisbane vs Collingwood Betting Tips

Gabba, Saturday 14th August, 7.25pm (AEST)

This clash at the Gabba was originally scheduled for all the way back at the start of the season, but due to COVID, the venues for the Round 3 and Round 21 fixtures between the Lions and Magpies were switched.

Match Preview

What a weird month it’s been for the Lions. They have dropped some really winnable games against the Tigers, Hawks and Saints over their last five games but bounced back well on the weekend with a dominant performance over the Dockers. The currently sit in 5th place on the ladder but find themselves a full two games and percentage behind the fourth placed Demons, so a jump into the top four is unlikely for Brisbane.

Outside of the glaring loss to star forward Eric Hipwood, the Lions injury list looks pretty solid at the moment, with only Cam Rayner out for the foreseeable future. Considering the carnage that is happening at other clubs this season, the Lions look like one of the healthiest teams in the league heading into finals.

The Pies had a great win over the Eagles last week but couldn’t back it up as they went down to the Hawks by 19 points at the MCG. The Pies sit in 16th place but don’t really need to worry about tanking to secure a better draft pick, as their first-round pick has already been traded to the Giants this season.

The Lions have been brilliant at the Gabba this season, winning their last seven straight games there by an average margin of 45 points. If they come out firing like they did against the Dockers on the weekend, they should record a really comfortable win over the Pies up north.

Taylor Adams has been dominant since returning to the Pies line-up in Round 15. In that span, he has averaged 29.85 touches per game. He has had 34 and 30 in his last two games and is good value to surpass the 30 mark again this week.

Daniel Rich has averaged 26.1 touches per game this season and in his last three, he has racked up 29, 32 and 28. When he faced the Magpies earlier in the year, he accumulated 28 touches.
