2021 AFL Round 18 Gold Coast vs Western Bulldogs Tips
Metricon Stadium, Saturday 17th July 4:35pm (AEST)
It’s an intriguing fixture we have on our hands here between a Suns team building confidence and a Bulldogs outfit coming off a disappointing loss. Regardless, the away team in the Bulldogs are currently the $1.24 favourites to get the job done at Metricon Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Match Prediction
Gold Coast were always going to find it difficult to push for a finals spot this season with the limited talent they have on their list, however, they look to be getting better week by week and have put in some really nice performances over the past fortnight. The Suns were one-point winners over the Giants on the road last weekend, which backed up their impressive win over the Tigers in the week prior.
Injuries have hit the Suns hard this season which certainly hasn’t helped their cause. Of players firmly in their best 22, all of Jarrod Witts, Hugh Greenwood and Rory Thompson are all going to be out for the rest of the season. In terms of players likely to return, Lachie Weller should be back next week from a concussion and both Noah Anderson and Josh Corbett are a big chance to play this weekend.
The Western Bulldogs put in arguably their worst performance of the season against the Swans last weekend, which they ended up losing by 19 points after trailing from wire to wire. That was the Bulldogs fourth loss for the season and it saw them slip back to second on the ladder, but the good news for them is that they’ve bounced back from all of their losses with wins so far this season.
The Bulldogs were without spearhead Aaron Naughton last weekend due to concussion protocol, but he’s expected to return to play against the Suns on Saturday. On top of that, Josh Dunkley is set to return from his shoulder injury which has seen him miss the majority of the season. Meanwhile, Adam Treloar, Lin Jong, Stef Martin, Laitham Vandermeer and Easton Wood are all a couple of weeks away from returning.
The Suns will certainly be coming into this clash with confidence on the back of two really good wins against quality opposition, however, the Bulldogs are a different beast and will be desperate to bounce back from their loss to the Swans with a big win. With the likes of Dunkley and Naughton returning to bolster the Bulldogs team, we have them taking care of business and recording a very comfortable win on the road.

Same Game Multi
Once again, we’ve scoured the markets to come up with some great player prop bets to build our three-leg Same Game Multi. For the first leg we’ll be taking Touk Miller for 30+ disposals. Miller is enjoying easy the best season of his career and has now had at least 30 touches in 10 straight games. Secondly, we’ll be taking Josh Dunkley to kick a goal at any time. He’s playing his first game since getting injured earlier in the season and should be spending some large chunks of time in the forward line as he looks to build his fitness back up. For the third and final leg of our SGM we’ll be including Taylor Duryea to collect at least 15 touches, which he’s done in 14 of the 16 games he’s played this season.
- Touk Miller 30+ Disposals
- Josh Dunkley Any Time Goal Scorer
- Taylor Duryea 15+ Disposals
