NBA Betting Tips Tuesday 19th November
Portland Trail Blazers at Houston Rockets (12.10pm AEDT)
The Rockets continued their wining ways on Sunday as they claimed a 20 point win over the Timberwolves on the road. James Harden was fantastic once again, dropping 49 points in the win while the Rockets supporting cast of Ben McLemore, Chris Clemons and Austin Rivers combined for 58 points.
The Blazers made headlines throughout the week by signing veteran and former all-star Carmelo Anthony to a non-guaranteed contract. Anthony should add valuable scoring off the bench, which the Blazers have desperately needed through their 5-8 start to the season.
The Rockets start as six point favourites here, which we really like given that they have won their last seven games in a row by at least six points. The Rockets have put up at least 110 points in 10 of their 13 games so far and should be able to score at will here.
San Antonio Spurs at Dallas Mavericks (12.40pm AEDT)
The Mavericks have had a solid start to the season, winning 7 of their first 12 games on the back of some dominant play by Luka Doncic. The second year player is averaging a ridiculous 28.5 points, 10.7 rebounds and 9.1 assists through the first 12 games and is an early contender for MVP.
The Spurs definitely aren’t the powerhouse they once were under head coach Gregg Popovich, but they looked competitive in the Western Conference, starting the season with a 5-3 record. However, they have gone on to lose their next five games in a row, the most recent a 5 point loss to Portland at home on Sunday.
Always tough to bet against the Spurs at home, but it’s a different story when they are on the road. They are just 1-4 away from home this season while the Mavericks are 2-0 against their divisional rivals this year.
Boston Celtics at Phoenix Suns (1pm AEDT)
The Celtics lost just their second game of the season on Monday as they went down to the Kings in Sacramento by one point. The loss snapped a 10 game winning streak for the Celtics, and they currently sit atop the Eastern Conference with a 10-2 record.
The Suns have been one of the surprise packets of the year so far, starting the season with a 7-4 record after many tipped them to be one of the minnows in the Western Conference. Aussie Aron Baynes has been great in the absence of starting centre DeAndre Ayton, averaging 15 points including two three pointers made per game.
The Suns have been fantastic but it’s hard not to like the look of the Celtics here with a 2.5-point headstart. The Celts are 6-4-2 against the spread this season and should be keen to bounce back after the disappointing loss in Sacramento.
