AFL Women's Round 7 Betting Tips
GWS v Brisbane (Friday, March 16, 7.05pm AEDT)
Round 7 starts with a crucial clash in Blacktown. The Giants and Lions can both reach the Grand Final so this should be a great clash. For the Giants, they’ve won two straight since a draw against the Crows. They were very impressive last week in a 46-28 victory over the favourites for the final in the Bulldogs. While for the Lions, they were well beaten at home 53-39. The loss knocked them back into 5th position and they’ll need to win this one. They did beat the Giants by 34 points last season but the Giants are a different side in 2018. They’re a much better attacking team and should enjoy home ground advantage. So in the end, I’ll back the Giants to win this.
TIP: Giants WIN - $1.85 at Ladbrokes
Fremantle vs Carlton (Saturday, March 17, 5.05pm AEDT)
The battle for the spoon will be played between the Dockers and Blues at Fremantle Oval. The Blues have arguably been the most disappointing team this season. After losing Bree Davey earlier in the season, they have struggled in all aspects. They’re easily the worst attacking team and they also rank last for points allowed. While for the Dockers, they’ve been starting slowly in most matches and rank just in front of the Blues in points scored. But they should be able to beat this Carlton side. They won the last matchup 43-27 in Perth. Despite three straight losses, they only just lost against the Crows last week and should take advantage of the Blues poor defence and lack of scoring.
TIP: Dockers -5.5 - $1.90 at Sportsbet
Western Bulldogs v Melbourne (Saturday, March 17, 7.10pm AEDT)
Saturday night is the match of the round as the Bulldogs meet the Demons at Whitten Oval. Both sides are 4-2 this season and sit in the top two. The losing side could still miss the final so that adds extra spice to this rivalry. Last week, the Bulldogs’ two match winning streak was ended by the Giants as they went down 46-28. The Demons on the other hand comfortably accounted for the Blues 57-22. These two sides rank in the top two for points scored in 2018 so I’m expecting points to flow as they chase a finals spot. In last year’s meeting, the Demons won 43-29 at this venue. The Bulldogs have improved their attack since last season so this will likely be a lot closer. So in the end, it’s tough to pick a winner here and I’ll stick with either team to win by under 15.5 points at CrownBet.
TIP: Either Team Less Than 15.5 - $1.65 at CrownBet
Collingwood vs Adelaide (Sunday, March 18, 2.35pm AEDT)
The last match of the regular season could still mean something to the Crows. They need to beat the Magpies and hope the Giants lose to the Lions. But the Magpies will have confidence of an upset. They’ve finished the season with 2 wins out of 3 and they were good against the Bulldogs in a loss. Last week they beat the Lions in Brisbane and handled Melbourne a few weeks back. They did meet the Crows in the same fixture last year and Adelaide thrashed them 70-46. Collingwood has a better attack in 2018 and that should keep this match closer. But in the end, if the Crows are playing for a Grand Final spot, they’ll have too much motivation and that should help them over the line by 1-24 points.
TIP: Crows 1-24 - $2.20 at CrownBet
