2018-19 NBA Betting Tips: Saturday 19th January

January 18th 2019, 7:47pm, By: admin

On Thursday we were victims of perhaps three of the most unluckiest losses of the season with our NBA betting tips. With about five minutes to go in all three games it looked as though we were going to have a perfect day, only to cop some of the worst luck to eventually lose all three. It was a horror day for us, but we’re confident we can bounce back and get back to our usual winning ways with some success on Saturday. Good luck to everyone following!

NBA Betting Tip Saturday January 19th

San Antonio Spurs @ Minnesota Timberwolves (12pm AEDT)

First up in our betting tips for Saturday slate features the clash between the Spurs and the Timberwolves in Minnesota. This will already be the fourth and final game between these teams in the regular season. The Spurs currently lead the series 2-1, with both teams taking care of home court on all three occasions.

The Spurs have seen a drop off in their form recently, having lost four of their last six games. This has come after a stretch where they won five on the spin to propel themselves into the playoff picture. As it stands, the Spurs are in sixth spot in the Western Conference standings at 26-20 on the season. However, they’ve been poor on the road at just 8-14 thus far.

The Timberwolves were absolutely dismantled by the 76ers in their most recent outing. They conceded a whopping 82 points in the first half alone, as well as 149 for the game in their 42-point loss. They’ll be looking for a huge response when they return home on Saturday, where they’ve won 15 of 22 games this season. The Timberwolves are currently in 11th spot in the West and are four games outside of the playoff picture.

The home record for the Timberwolves compared with the away record for the Spurs speaks volumes here. The Timberwolves have been excellent at home all season and got a win over a very competitive Pelicans team last time there. We expect them to defeat a poor road team in the Spurs on Saturday at juicy odds.

Minnesota Timberwolves Win

New Orleans Pelicans @ Portland Trail Blazers (2:30pm AEDT)

The second match-up we’re interested in is the New Orleans Pelicans at Portland Trail Blazers game. This will be just the second meeting between these Western Conference rivals this season. The first meeting ended in a 132-119 home win for the Trail Blazers.

The Pelicans are finally starting to get healthy and are putting in some solid performances as a result. They led by as many as 16 in the third quarter against the Warriors last time out, but were unable to withstand a Steph Curry onslaught down the stretch. Despite their recent turn in form, the Pelicans are still down in 12th spot in the Western Conference standings and have a lot of ground to make up on their rivals.

The Trail Blazers have also found some of their best form in recent weeks, winning five of their last seven games. They’ve been particularly good at home, winning five on the spin there and are an impressive 19-7 on the season. They continue to prove hard to beat in the West and are now in fourth spot and only four games behind the Warriors in first.

The Blazers home record is very impressive and should prove to be the difference against a Pelicans outfit that has really struggled on the road. We see this as a potential double digit win for the home side.

Portland Trail Blazers -2.5

$1.87

Golden State Warriors @ Los Angeles Clippers (2:30pm AEDT)

The third and final game we’ve found value in features the Golden state Warriors travelling to take on the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Centre. This will be the third meeting between these teams this season, in a series that is currently tied at one a piece.

The Warriors enter this game in some of their best form of the season, having won each of their last six and eight of their last nine. This stretch has elevated the Warriors into the top position in the Western Conference at 31-14. There’s also word that Boogie Cousins could make his debut for them in this one, which is nightmare news for the rest of the league.

Meanwhile, the Clippers are going their one of their leanest stretches of what has otherwise been a successful season. As it stands, they’re in seventh place in the Western Conference standings and are four games above .500.

It might be a bit of a risky selection, but we’re willing to back Boogie Cousins and the Warriors on the road here. They’ve now got terrific depth and should have what it takes to cover the spread against a struggling Clipper outfit.

Golden State Warriors -6

$1.92
