The Cavaliers will be looking to close out the Eastern Conference Finals this Friday, the 26th of May when they take on the Celtics in Boston. The Cavs come into the game with a 3-1 lead after winning Game 4 in Cleveland in comfortable fashion.
Kyrie Irving exploded in the 3rd quarter when LeBron James had to subbed out due to foul trouble. The point guard had 21 points in the quarter and finished the night with a game high 42 as the Cavaliers won 112-99. Regardless of being in foul trouble in the 3rd quarter, James still posted a 34-6-5 stat line to regain some form after a dismal Game 3.
Kevin Love was also dominant, particularly on the glass, racking up 17 boards on the night as Boston’s rebounding woes continue to haunt them. Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder were the sole standouts for Boston with 19 and 18 points respectively.
We envisioned a big bounce back game from the Cavs here. They would have definitneyl been disappointed after their efforts in Game 3 and although they went down early in Game 4, the effort so Kyrie Irving proved their will to win.
As we mentioned in our previous post, the Celtics had to have an absolute day out from behind the arc to even be competitive in Game 3. They were always going to come back to earth a bit in this game and it was a question as to whether they could muster the offence sans Isaiah Thomas. Ultimately their 10-31 from beyond the arc just wasn’t good enough.
Heading back to Boston for this game might seem like the Celtics will have more of a chance, but with Kyrie now firing on all cylinders it’s almost impossible to tip them to win. They did cover a large line for us last game though, and with it set at 10 points on Friday, we think they should cover again with the home crowd behind them in what will likely be their last game of the year.
TIP: Boston Celtics +10 - $1.95 at Sportsbet
Kelly Olynyk has been relatively quiet this series after the performance of a lifetime in Game 7 against the Wizards. His point line has been creeping slowly down and we think it’s now at tipping point at just 12.5 Back the Canadian big to have a decent game here.
TIP: Kelly Olynyk OVER 12.5 points - $1.93 at Sportsbet
