Tough day in MLB betting last Monday as we hit on just 1 of our 3 tips. We’ll be ramping up our coverage of the MLB season starting this week, however, as we begin to preview the key games on both Tuesdays and Thursday AEST. We’ll look to improve on last week’s performance as we preview the key games this Tuesday, the 25th of July including the ESPN televised Colorado Rockies at St Louis Cardinals.
Colorado Rockies at St Louis Cardinals (10am AEST)
Antonio Senzatela will be on the mound for the travelling Rockies here as he looks to improve on his already impressive 10-3 record on the season so far. The right hander has a 4.67 ERA through 16 starts and has the favourable matchup against Cardinal Mike Leake. Leake has a 6-8 record on the season and while his ERA is respectable at 3.39, his last start against the Mets produced a ridiculous 10 hits and 7 runs through just 2 innings.
The Rockies have had the offensive form on the season so far as well. DJ LeMahieu, Nolan Arenado, Charlie Blackmon and Gerardo Parra all boast a batting average above .300 on the season so far while 6 hitters likely in the Rockies line-up tomorrow average .353 or more against Leake. We like the Rockies to win away from home here.

Atlanta Braves at Arizona Diamondbacks (11.40am AEST)
The pitching matchup of the day pits two former Cy Young award winners against each other in R.A Dickey from the Braves going up against the Diamondbacks and Zack Greinke. Both pitchers have been firing on all cylinders through their last 3 appearances, maintaining an ERA of under 2.7. Greinke in particular has had the support of his offence and has a 11-4 record on the season so far.
The Diamondbacks sit second in the NL East behind the Dodgers and will need to continue hunting wins if they want to wrap up that wildcard spot in the playoffs. Can’t afford to drop a game at home with their ace on the mound here so we like them to come away with the win.

Boston Red Sox at Seattle Mariners (12.10pm AEST)
The Red Sox continue their Western road trip with the first of a three game series against the Mariners on Tuesday. Boston went just 1 of 3 in their series against the Angels and will be looking for some away wins here to solidify their spot atop the AL East heading into a 10 game home stand later this week. Eduardo Rodriguez will be back on the mound after making his return from injury last week, giving up 3 runs in just over 5 innings.
Rodriguez will be up against lefty James Paxton, who has been dominant in July with a 4-0 record at a really handy 2.05 ERA. Paxton is the more in form pitcher of the duel but it’s hard to look past the Sox dynamic offence at the moment. They’ll welcome back star 2B Dustin Pedroia Tuesday to accompany Mookie Betts, Xander Boegarts and Andrew Benintendi in one of the most damaging line-ups in baseball.
