2017 MLB Betting Tips: Orioles at Red Sox + Tuesday, May 2nd Games

May 1st 2017, 2:54pm, By: CrossRoads

The 2017 MLB season continues this Tuesday, the 2nd of May. Just 20 games into a long 162 game season, many teams are still trying to find their feet, however, it won't stop us frmo trying to find some value in the games as we preview some of the key matchups on Tuesday below.

Toronto Blue Jays at New York Yankees (9.05am AEST)

Toronto travel to New York for game one of the three game series. Toronto have a record of 8-17 early in the season but have won the last two over the Rays, as they try and find some winning form. Right hand pitcher Marco Estrada will start for the Jays, he is 0-1 this season and has an ERA of 2.70. In the five starts Estrada has allowed two or fewer runs. The veteran troubled the Yankees in the 2016 season where he won all four of his games against the Yankees.

New York have had an offensive explosion of late, winning two out of three games against the Orioles and scoring 30 runs from three games. They are now equal in the standings with the Orioles and look to take down a struggling Toronto team.

Luis Severino will take the mound for the red hot Yankees as he tries and secure his third win of the season. Severino has become a trusted starter since out of the Bullpen, this year he has thrown 33 strikeouts and has lowered his ERA to 3.00.

TIP: New York Yankees -1.5 - $2.19 at Sportsbet

Baltimore Orioles at Boston Red Sox (9.10 am AEST ESPN HD)

The Orioles play the Red Sox at Fenway Park on Tuesday morning. The Orioles are coming off a three game series with the Yankees where they gave up 30 home runs as the Yankees got the better of them with the 2-1 win. The Orioles are 15-8 this season and lead the AL east ahead of the Yankees. The O’s start Dylan Bundy in this game as he tries to get his fourth win of the season. In his first year of a starter Bundy has been terrific posting an ERA of 1.65 and will attempt to get back to back wins with a shutout in his first contest over the Red Sox.

The Red Sox are sorely missing David Ortiz presence at the moment as the Red Sox have one of the worst offense in baseball at the moment. They are dead last in home runs this season which is hard to imagine with the likes of Bogaerts, Ramirez and Mookie Betts. Rick Porcello will start his fourth straight game versus AL East teams. He has started slow with losing the last two but has picked things up lately, he has a 1-3 record and a 4.75 ERA. In this not so great record he has only gave away two earned runs in just over 13 innings.

TIP: Baltimore Orioles H2H - $2.19 at Sportsbet

San Francisco Giants at Los Angeles Dodgers (12.10 am AEST)

In one of the matchups of the day, the Giants travel south to battle crosstown rivals the LA Dodgers. The Giants are last in the NL west with a 9-17 record and have lost the last two coming into Tuesday’s series. Hopefully star pitcher Johnny Cueto can produce the goods against the Dodgers. Cueto has always been reliable for the Giants and opens this game with a 3-1 record and a 5.10 ERA. The Giants have been surprisingly strong with the pitching starters. Since the Bumgarner injury the Giants have had one of the strongest Bullpens in April. It's a no brainer to fix the terrible start, they need more hits and runs as the Giants rank second last for runs scored.

LA Dodgers won't make it easy for the Giants with Clayton Kershaw starting in this game. He is 4-1 this season and an ERA of 2.29 and had a 2-1 victory over the Giants in his last meet. The Dodgers are third in their division and are slowly catching Colorado and Arizona who are at top of the table. The Dodgers have won the last four and are quite reliable at home with a 9-4 record. It will be hard to look past Kershaw in this one.

TIP: LA Dodgers -1.5 - $1.95 at Ladbrokes
