Another final ball win for Sri Lanka on Sunday night gave the tourists a T20 series win with an unassailable 2-0 lead. Australia will be hoping to avoid a whitewash when the series heads to Adelaide on Wednesday night as we offer our 3rd T20 betting tips.
The Big Bash stars’ team that has been put together for the series has been lacklustre, especially the bowling unit. Arguably the world’s best T20 seam bowler, James Faulkner, has failed to fire in both matches while the cavalcade of state quicks in Andrew Tye, Jhye Richardson and Billy Stanlake have had a massive 10.5 economy rate between them over the two games.
The batting hasn’t been much better for the Aussies, with only Michael Klinger showing signs of form in both games. Moises Henriques batted well in Geelong and will certainly make his case for the upcoming T20 World Cup if he can perform in game three following a dominant Big Bash tournament.
Although the Sri Lankans took until the last ball to claim victory in both games, they were calculated run chases and the tourists were in the box seat for most of the innings in both games. The play of Asela Gunaratne has been ridiculous with 52 in the first game and an unbeaten 84 in the second.
On the bowling front for the tourists, seamer Nuwan Kulasekara was outstanding in Geelong, finishing with 4-31 off his four overs while Vikum Sanjaya claimed the big wickets of Aaron Finch and Michael Klinger to help keep the Aussies to a respectable total.
With the Test side preparing for a massive series in India, Aaron Finch won’t want to disappoint his touring Australian compatriots by getting whitewashed on home soil. It’s a massive game for both the reputation of Finch and the reputation of the depth of Australian cricket which has always been held in the highest regard.
Look for the Aussies to come out firing here. With Billy Stanlake bowling so poorly in the first game, and none of the Aussie quicks really doing enough in Geelong to warrant omission, it should be an unchanged side for the Aussies. I like them to snatch a victory here on the back of an Aaron Finch masterclass.

We’ve rode the most sixes market in the last 2 games and while we won easily in game one, game two saw the two teams tie with 6 apiece. I find it difficult to find a way Sri Lanka clearly out hit the Aussies on any ground, so this should be another safe bet to take the Aussies here.
