Big ten game slate in the NHL this Wednesday, the 29th of November. We take a look at some of the key games of the day including the Fox Sports televised Stars at Golden Knights and give our betting tips below.
Dallas Stars at Vegas Golden Knights (2.00pm AEDT Fox Sports 503 HD)
The Vegas Golden Knights play host the Dallas Stars in Wednesday’s televised game. Vegas are running hot at the moment, winners of their last five and are 7-2-1 in their previous ten. Vegas are now leaders of the Pacific Division ahead of the fast starting LA Kings and the Calgary Flames. Goalie Malcolm Subban will suit up for Vegas on home ice as he tries to accomplish his fifth straight win of the year. After recently coming back from injury he picked up two victories last week over the Coyotes and the Sharks. Vegas are relentless on the offensive end, they are second in the league for goals and are 9-1 on home ice this season.
The Stars have enjoyed a three day break ahead of their clash with the Knights.
Tyler Seguin’s hat trick lead his team for the win over the Flames with Dallas putting on six goals along with 41 shots on goal to get the win. Dallas have been ok but not great this season, they have lacked consistency and have struggled to wins games on the road with a 3-8-1 record. Both teams met at the start of the year with Vegas claiming the 2-1 on Dallas ice. Can Dallas put together a three period performance after the three day break or will Vegas continue to on their merry way to claim win number six straight?

Florida Panthers at New York Rangers (11.00 AEDT)
The Rangers are enjoying their best run of the season and have put together four wins straight. It's what the fans and players needed as the Rangers had a mediocre start to the season. Three of the past four wins have been on home ice and they haven't played any of the top teams in these four victories, but as we know a win's a win. Both ends of the ice have been impressive but it's the defence that has won them the games as they have allowed only four goals past the net in four games. With a Panthers team second last with Rangers should finish on top in this one.
The Florida Panthers don't have issues on the scoring end, their issues begin in defence. They are ranked 30th in the league for goals allowed and shots on goal. This is part of the reason why they are second last in the East. This game will be their second game in two nights as they head to Jersey for a battle with the Devils. Bright side for the Panthers is the form of left winger Jonathan Huberdeau who has 22 points for the season with 15 assists. Florida has performed well in NYC against the Rangers and have won the last two against the Rangers at MSG.

Carolina Hurricanes at Columbus Blue Jackets 11.00am AEST
Columbus are bringing some of that 2016 form back, as they take on the Hurricanes to try and get their seventh straight victory. Just like a handful of teams in the East the Jackets have put together consecutive wins. They are 15-7-1 and are second behind the Devil's in the Metropolitan Division. Sergei Bobrovsky has starred in 14 of those victories but due to consecutive games he will sit out this one and hand the reins to Joonas Korpisalo who is 1-3-0 this season.
These two teams met just over a week ago in Columbus, the Hurricanes got the victory with Jordan Staal scoring twice in the 3-1 victory. The Canes are also looking for their second consecutive win as they disposed of the Predators in a shootout on Monday morning. The Canes can match any team with the lineup they have but are sitting midway in the East standings equal with the Bruins. If they can continue to feed pucks to players like Seb Aho and Teutonic Teravainen the offence will be unstoppable. Both players lead the team in points and have been a handful for teams in the past week or two. With claiming the victory over the Jackets recently and not having Bobrovsky in front of the net, this one the Canes can take!
