Big 10 game slate in the NHL this Wednesday, the 20th of December. We take a look at some of the key games of the day including the Fox Sports televised Lightning at Golden Knights and give our betting tips below.
Tampa Bay Lightning at Vegas Golden Knights (2.00pm AEDT Fox Sports 503HD)
The Lightning head to Vegas for the game of the day against the Golden Knights. The Lightning have won their previous seven games and are clearly the best team in the East. The duo of Stamkos and Kucherov is still strong as ever with Kucherov currently on a four game goal streak. But they have been getting plenty of assists and scoring help from Brayden Point who is on a seven game point streak and Tyler Johnson who two has been a hand full providing five multi point games over the past seven games. Andrei Vasilevskiy will be chasing his fifth consecutive win in this one, he has been excellent this year with a 21-4-1 record.
The Golden Knights lead the Pacific Division once again ahead of the LA Kings and are also chasing their third straight win. Vegas are still unstoppable on home ice, their most recent win was on Sunday over the Florida Panthers at home, which now puts them at 13-2-1 for the season. Vegas have very good even strength goal abilities but struggle on the power play. They will face a team that are ranked first in the league in that column, this could be the difference in this game.

Washington Capitals at Dallas Stars (12.30pm AEDT)
The Capitals head to Texas on Wednesday to battle it out with the Stars. Washington are 8-2-0 in their previous ten games and have won three straight. Washington continue to get it done and now are one game behind the Devil's in the Metropolitan Standings. Both teams are evenly matched and have great records at home but not so good on the road. The Capitals strength is on the power play. Ranked seventh overall, they have been getting done especially when Kuznetsov, Ovechkin and Backstrom link up.
The Stars have been Washington’s nemesis over the years. Dallas have won nine of the last ten over the Caps and are strong enough at home to win once again. The Stars are finding consistency within the 2017-2018 season and now have crept up into the wildcard slot. Dallas are 10-4-0 at home this year and are being led behind Tyler Seguin who leads the team in points and goals this season.

Winnipeg Jets at Nashville Predators (12.00pm AEDT)
The Jets head to Nashville to take on the Predators for the second time this season. The Jets have now dropped to third in the Central Division as they continue to struggle through December. They did come up with the 4-0 shutout win over the Blues on Monday, as the offence rattled St Louis producing 46 shots on goal. The Jets have a 7-7-4 record on the road this season and will need the best out of goalie Connor Hellebuyck in this game.
Nashville are now where they were expected to be this season, on top of the Central Division. Winners of their last three including two shutouts over the Oilers and the Flames, the Preds are starting to defensively strong like last year in the playoffs. They are now 7-1-2 in their past ten and a home record of 11-2-2. Will be hard to beat on home ice.
