Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars (Friday at 12:25pm AEDT)
You Might be asking why we are watching Tennessee vs Jacksonville in this Thursday night football showdown, well every team in the NFL is guaranteed at least one prime time game.
Both teams enter this contest with a terrible 2-12 record. Really this game will be a fight for draft positions next year. At this stage in the season Tennessee has a tendency to fade away. Both these teams rank very bad in every offensive and defensive category, however I do believe Jacksonville would have circled this game in their calendar as a game they strongly believe they can win.
The positive point to this game will be to watch the development of rookie quarterback Blake Bortles. Although he has had a rollercoaster season each week he shows signs of improvement. I believe Bortles has all the attributes to develop into a great quarterback. Bortles only 300 yard passing game came against Tennessee earlier this season where he threw for 336 yards.
Denver Broncos at Cincinnati Bengals (Tuesday at 12:30pm AEDT)
It’s shaping up to be a great playoff series and I for one can’t wait. The last game of the week has the Denver Broncos heading into Paul Brown Stadium to face the Cincinnati Bengals as 3.5 point road favourites.
The Broncos did clinch the AFC West title last week after beating the San Diego Chargers 22-10. However this week’s game is just as important if not more so, as a win would give them a first round bye in the playoffs. This is a key ingredient for super bowl success.
Cincinnati’s stocks are high after embarrassing Johnny Manziel and the Cleveland Browns 30-0 but we all know what to do when the stocks are high. Cincinnati’s quarterback Andy Dalton AKA “the beige water pistol” is not exactly lighting it up. Even last week in the big win his numbers were below average (14 of 22, 117 yards and 1 interception) no thanks!
Peyton Manning is a superlative 8-0 versus Cincinnati over his career. Numbers that can’t be ignored! And now he has arguably the most talent behind him ever (on both sides of the ball)
Denver is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games as a road favourite.
When Cincinnati is a home underdog the OVER is 9-3 over the past 12 games.
To sum it up:
-I definitely can’t see Denver losing this game
-They really should cover this line the way the defense is playing and we all know what Peyton can do
-Leaning towards the OVER (just hope Cincinnati can score at least 20)
