Another big day of midweek racing this Wednesday, the 29th of March as we take a look at every race on both the Sandown and Newcastle cards and give our best bets and best value below.
SANDOWN RACING TIPS
R1 - Mutin (Best Bet)
R2 - Platinum Angel
R3 - Harvard / Wild Cavalier EW
R4 - Downhearted
R5 - Emperor's Chariot EW (Best Value)
R6 - Lost Command
R7 - Lady Skills / Jester Halo EW
R8 - Think Babe
Best Bet: Race 1 Mutin
Placed on all four starts so far and handled the step up in distance last start when finishing 2nd behind a smart winner. Thunder Cloud has a 1.5kg weight swing and you sense he will bounce back as a Weir horse, but Mutin simply produced the better run last start and should be winning this if he does so again.
Best Value: Race 5 Emperor's Chariot
Was backed to win first up at Cranbourne and was a horror watch. Should have won but went to the line untested, gets a 1kg weight swing on the winner that day (Gangstar's Curse) but is double the price. At $15/$3.20 could be a decent place chance at least.

Best Bet: Race 2 Noire
Just got edged out first up over 1200m after four good trials. Bowman takes over today and this race lacks depth so from the good draw looks like she will get a good run on speed and be very tough to run down.
Best Value: Race 8 Beretta
Plenty of nice EW bets on offer today with the big fields but Beretta has a terrific chance in Race 8 at $7.50. Was only 1.5L off the winner in a Provincial Championship qualifier first up but is much better suited second up here. Draws inside barrier, has finished in the top 2 in all three starts over 1400m and has placed in four of his six starts at the track. Bowman on, looks a big chance.
