Ladbrokes

Sale Racing Tips – Wednesday, May 24th 2023

Race 5: Ladbrokes Communities Handicap - 2:45pm (AEST)

(7) Sir Rockford for Robbie Laing won well 2 starts back when he ran on very strongly at Werribee, before then settling handy when running 2nd at Hillside. Ollie was on that time and remains with him here which is a good indication that the horse is going pretty well. He likes a bit of give out of the ground and he should get this here at Sale.

(5) Red on Red has been consistent without winning of late and may go well at this distance for his first attempt.

(3) Remigus has drawn awkwardly in 10 but will go back anyway for the Hayes team. The gelding’s form on Soft is poor but he is 100 percent fit now.

(1) High Done will likely try and lead again like he did at Geelong when 2nd last start. Has been in the top three 7 of 16 starts on the Soft.

(7) Sir Rockford - WIN

$2.70 (2 Units)

Race 6: Ladbrokes Racing Club Handicap - 3:20pm (AEST)

(8) Highland Hill has drawn poorly in 13 but is good enough to go very close here. He led and wasn’t disgraced in the Listed Galilee 2 starts back (4th) and this race is easier. He was 6th in the VRC ST Leger last start and again, this is easier. He drops back 800m in distance after failing to run the 3000m out last time.

(7) Dahwilly has won 2 from 6 starts at Sale and has won over the 2200m previously. The Soft ground is a positive and despite having not placed this prep, he is very fit now after 4 runs in.

(9) Alexander Hamilton has very good Soft track form and has no troubles running out a strong 2200m.

(11) Bell’s Bighouse was slow out at Moe but battled on gamely for 6th. Can place at odds after winning at this track 2 starts ago.

(8) Highland Hill - WIN

$4.40 (2 Units)

Race 7: Ladbrokes Live Betting Handicap - 3:55pm (AEST)

(7) Rain Lord was excellent at Tatura and Werribee last prep when winning both of those races and the Lord of the Sky x New York Rain gelding can run well here despite being on a Soft surface for the first time. Peter Snowden has put Ollie on for this ride which is a huge plus. Rain Lord won a Flemington jumpout 2 weeks ago and did look impressive.

(6) Epic Centre was a bit wide last time at Ballarat before winning easily last time at Seymour. Jake Noonan goes on this time and will likely position this gelding handy.

(8) Jungle Sensation was on speed when 2nd last time at Hillside on a Heavy track and is and he is another who will go forward early.

(3) Field of Flutes loves the wet and will be fav but the track will be drying out on raceday.

(4) Tax Free Prophet has been freshened up for this but will need to jump better out of the barriers this time.

(7) Rain Lord - WIN

$6.50 (2 Units)

Race 8: Ladbrokes Same Race Multi Handicap - 4:25pm (AEST)

(8) Liberty Steps has drawn inside after a four month spell and I think he can settle handy just behind the leader. Last prep he was 9th in a Group 3 race and was beaten 5L. This is a lot easier and he does go well fresh and does go well over this distance having won and running a 2nd before. Dan Stackhouse takes the ride for the first time and he should run well after finishing close up in recent jumpouts.

(5) Corkscrew is another who resumes from a spell and he also goes very well fresh.

(2) Heywood has won 2 from 3 on the Soft and has been freshened for this. Ben Allen is on and he will likely try and settle this guy midfield.

(1) Blood Oath has placed at Sale before and is a last start winner after leading all of the way at Hillside. Is one of the fittest horses in the race.

(8) Liberty Steps - WIN

$4 (2 Units)
