Sale Racing Tips – Wednesday, June 7th 2023

Race 6: Gippsland Real Estate Class 1 Handicap - 2:45pm (AEST)

(7) Queen Of The Green is fitter this time after getting tired late in the Group 3 Proud Miss at Morphettville last start. She remains at the same distance and is capable on the wet in case Thursday’s predicted 10mls of rain comes early. Snapped beat her last time and she is talented and the 2nd horse in the race (Grey River) was backed to win on Saturday at Flemington but failed.

(3) Starbury for Nick Ryan and Billy Egan was too far back last start when 8th but she has trialed well since.

(1) Cause For Concern can be costly at the barriers but does look to have talent. He is fit enough now after 2 trials and 2 races since his spell and change of stable.

(9) Miss Jenni Lyn has drawn well in 2 and did look good when winning by a nose last start at Kilmore on the Heavy.

(7) Queen Of The Green - WIN

$2.80 (3 Units)

Race 7: Graham Chalmer Real Estate Handicap - 3:20pm (AEST)

(3) The Awesome Son is over the odds here I reckon and is worth an each-way play after making up gradual ground slowly at Lakeside when 5th. The extra distance here is better and this horse has won in town previously. Before that run it was an 8th at The Bool but he was way too far back on the home bend and was carrying 60kg. With a similar weight here, he would want to be a little closer in the run.

(1) Alhambra Lad is down in grade and is another that can run on very well. Has 61.5kg but gets the claim.

(6) Dahwilly has won 2 from 7 on the Soft and almost got there at this track last start.

(8) Armalite is a chance if he can leave the barriers better in this race.

(3) The Awesome Son - E/W

$13/$3.40 (1 Unit)

Race 8: Sale Mazda & Mitsubishi Handicap - 3:55pm (AEST)

(4) Remigus has the blinkers on again after placing (3rd) for Dan Stackhouse last start and he sticks with him here. He was 5th at the 400m and ran on fairly, beaten less than a length and with the shades on, the Hayes stable will hope he is switched on to the line. His Soft form isn’t good but he should be right if it doesn’t rain on the day. He will get back but will find this race easier than the 500k VicSires Guineas which he raced in on April 15.

(5) Lavish Thinker won well on similar ground at this track last start and will have admirers again here. He has a pretty good last split on him so will be strong to the end.

(6) Red On Red is better on the Soft and has drawn the rails in this one. He might be able to sit behind the leader in the run.

(7) Smullen will find this easier than his last couple and he is another who gets back. Mertens sticks with him.

(4) Regimus - WIN

$5 (2 Units)

Race 9: Ladbroke It Handicap - 4:25pm (AEST)

(15) Ivan’s Hero is 3rd emergency but is the tip if he gains a start. From the Waller stable he is first up and he has run two 2nds when first up previously. The run I liked was the 2nd at Ladbrokes Park back on March 8 and a repeat of that will see him go close.

(7) King Neptune is the tip if Ivan doesn’t get a gig on the back of a very good Cranbourne win two starts ago. He then led last start at Pakenham when 2nd so it will be interesting to see if Jamie Mott tries to lead again.

(6) Boschendal hasn’t raced in a long time but Greg Eurell does know how to train a winner around the Gippsland area.

(5) True Grit is better than his last prep form reads and John Sadler knows how to set them for a race. A wet track would be an issue.

(15) Ivan’s Hero - WIN

$3.50 (3 Units)
