Moe Racing Club gets its first chance for the year to host midweek racing this week with a competitive eight races on the program.
The two-year-olds gets us underway in the first with a starting time of 3:40pm.
Not many horses on the program have raced at Moe previously, but Brendan Bunworth has still managed to pick out some great value racing tips, which you can find below!
Moe Racing Tips: Wednesday February 8th
Race 3
(9) Humming is talked about as a future city class horses after connections paid big money to obtain her. Damien Lane rides her at her first start at she has drawn nicely in 7. Out of I am Invincible/Hips Dont Lie she is beautifully bred. Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr put the polish on and I expect her to possibly start shorter than even money. She trialed up nicely at Geelong on January 31 running 3rd but she probably could have won that quite easily, held nicely beaten less than half a length.
(4) Storming Ahead is having his first start in the leading Maher & Eustace stable so obviously has to be respected. Hasn't trialed up overly impressively but you would let it get out to double figure odds.
(3) King’s Chamber has run two 2nds from 4 starts and has the race experience. He was only beaten a nose at Geelong on January 29 so I expect him to finish close to the winner.
(10) Mrs Olle has Craig Newitt on has only trialed up fairly.
(9) Humming WIN

Race 4
(2) Deal Obtained is having start number two after running 2nd on debut at this track (beaten a nose). Racing at this track for a second time is going to be a big bonus on his rivals and Dom Thornton can again position up handy and be in the finish. From barrier 1 Thornton should be able to settle behind the leader and be too good.
(3) Fashion Empire will be behind Deal Obtained and may try to follow him into the race. He was 5th on debut but did make up good late ground. He is pretty fit after four recent jumpouts and he should be in the placings.
(4) Our Orator was beaten 8L on debut when 7th but the Maher & Eustace stable have opted to put the blinkers on this time.
(7) Our Danni Dino made up a couple of lengths later at 100-1 last start.
(2) Deal Obtained WIN

Race 5
(1) Desperado will carry 61.5kg but looks the goods in this race. He won well at Warrnambool two starts back before racing in a harder race than this at Flemington last time. On that occasion he wasn't disgraced when 7th beaten 3.5L. He drops back to 1600m and Ben Allen takes the ride.
(2) Oceanography is consistent but hasn't won in a while. The blinkers have been taken off and he is another who has raced in better races than this so should find it easier.
(3) Commodus failed last time at The Valley (11th) but this track will suit more.
(5) Frankie Two Angels is ready to fire after two recent seconds but does meet a couple that do look to have his measure. Maybe in a few more weeks.
(1) Desperado WIN

Race 7
(1) Teofilo Star was unlucky when first up from a spell (last) and the Waterhouse & Bott gelding gets his chance in an easier race here. He has good second up form and it does look like he may get a soft lead in this race. From the inside gate I think he can control the race and lead all of the way. Jordan Childs is on and although Teofilo’s Form looks terrible on looks, don't let that fool you.
(2) Emperor of France was 7th at Benalla last start and did get a nice run from the inside gate. He has had 1 start third up and that was a successful one. He likes Good tracks and the astute stable as freshened him for this.
(3) Drake Passage was way too good for his rivals when winning last start at Werribee but this is harder. He does get back and there doesn't look to be a lot of speed on paper which is a worry but the extra trip should hold no fear.
(4) Romania hasn't won first up before but he was only given a short two and a half month spell this time. He has won at Moe before and should settle 3rd or 4th. Should be top 4.
