Happy Valley Racing Tips: Wednesday April 12th
Race 2
(1) Cordyceps One is down to class 5 here and fully capable of winning this race after running 2nd up in class 4 two starts back. There’s a relative lack of pace in this race which could see Karis Teetan go forward aboard this horse. Either way he should be prominent in the run and hard to beat in this grade.
(3) Over The Moon also dropped in class recently and ran well in this grade last start. Hugh Bowman remains aboard and should be able to give the horse another solid shot at winning since joining class 5.
(2) To Infinity may need some more pace on in this race than he’s going to get but he did win last time out and should be able to hold that form and at least perform well again.

Race 4
(1) Zone D is back in form after winning impressively last time when he received a sweet run on the rail, peeled off at the perfect time and let down strongly under Zac Purton. He remains aboard in this event which he should find no harder and draws well in gate 3 to hopefully produce a similar performance.
(6) Maldives is too short here. He’s a great horse on his day, but his days are few and far between. He’d have been a nice play in this race at an e/w price and is still a danger to this favourite, but he’s under the odds for mine.
(2) Red Majesty could pinch the race from the front? He has a bad habit of bobbing up when least expected and as he’s one of the outsiders of the field tonight, I’ll be keeping an eye on the track pattern to ensure there’s nothing else in this horse’s favour.

Race 5
(4) G One Excellent is just about the bet of the night here. He’s barely put a hoof wrong all season and has found the winning edge lately which doesn’t seem to be going anywhere fast. The horse will get every opportunity to let down late from gate 9 and should be extremely hard to hold out.
(2) Atomic Energy has won since being beaten by G One Excellent. A 1kg weight swing in his favour doesn’t look as though it will be enough to turn the tables, but the horse is open to improvement having had only 4 starts.
(10) Nicetobemet hasn’t stood up like some have expected him to so far in his short career. I get the feeling we’re yet to see the best of this horse and with Zac Purton sticking with him, maybe we’ll see it tonight.
(4) G One Excellent win
