2017-18 EPL: Week 12 Preview & Betting Tips

November 15th 2017, 6:49pm, By: SundayLeagueShark

Another tough weekend just gone for us in EPL tips as we hit on just one of four bets. Watford could have given us another win if not for the missed penalty in the 110th minute of their game against Everton. We’ll look to bounce back this weekend as we preview Week 12 pf the EPL season and give our betting tips below.

EPL Week 12 Betting Tips

Arsenal vs Tottenham (Saturday 11.30pm AEDT)

The game of the round this weekend sees North London foes Arsenal and Tottenham do battle at Emirates Stadium on Saturday night. The Spurs were able to put some real pressure on Manchester United after their win over Crystal Palace on the weekend and now sit level with the Red Devils on points, behind only Manchester City on the table.

The Gunners were gallant in their loss to Man City on the weekend, which is more than can be said for a lot of teams in the league so far this season. They went down 3-1 but were able to put up a lot of scoring chances against the Sky Blues and should be more competitive at home against the Spurs this weekend.

The Gunners have lost just two of their last five games and they came against quality sides in the form of Man City and Watford. They’ll welcome the return to the Emirates but lack the form against the Spurs of late. They haven’t won in their last four attempts against their North London rivals, although three of those games have ended in draws. Should be another tight battle here as the Derby always is, three of their last four games have ended in under 2.5 goals so we like the unders here.

TIP: Total goals UNDER 2.5 - $2.33 at Sportsbet

Leicester City vs Manchester City (Sunday 2am AEDT)

Manchester City once again made their claim for the title of best team in the world on the weekend as they downed Arsenal 3-1 at home to remain undefeated on the season and take an 8-point lead at the top of the table.

Leicester did well to hold on for a 2-2 draw at Stoke in the Week 11 opener as Stoke peppered the goals with seven shots on target throughout the game. After a shakey start to the season, Leicester have now put some distance between them and the relegation zone and with a pretty favourable draw post Manchester City, we think they will start to climb the table.

The amazing thing about Manchester City this season has been their ablility to get wins even when they aren’t playing their best football. Arsenal were arguably the better team for the first half of their game on the weekend and for portions of the second, however, the Citizens still came away with a 3-1 win. That is what teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona are able to do and even though they have only won 1 of their last 4 against Leicester, we like them to win comfortably here.

TIP: Manchester City to win and both teams to score - $2.40 at Ladbrokes

West Bromwich Albion vs Chelsea (Sunday 2am AEDT)

Chelsea got their season back on track in a big wasy on the weekend as they downed Manchester United 1-0 at home to consolidate their position in the top four. They still sit 9 points behind Manchester City at the top of the table but are now in the position to put some real pressure on Man U and Tottenham as they start to get key players back from injury.

On the other end of the spectrum, West Brom have lost their last three games and are now sitting just one point above the relegation zone. They haven’t won a game since their two wins to open the season and their loss to Huddersfield on the weekend was a low point of the season.

West Brom have taken all three points against Chelsea just once in their last nine attempts and while they have managed to scrap some draws at The Hawthorns, their record at Stamford Bridge has been dismal. Chelsea have kept a clean sheet in their last two against West Brom and kept one of the most dynamic offences in the league in Man U scoreless on the weekend. A Blues win to nil seems like a good bet here.

TIP: Chelsea to win to nil - $2.40 at Sportsbet

Manchester United vs Newcastle (Sunday 4.30am AEDT)

Manchester United slipped up again on the weekend to record their second loss in three weeks and now sit eight points behind their Manchester rivals in first place. They’ll welcome the return to Old Trafford this weekend against an out of form Newcastle side.

After a seven game stretch where they only lost one game, Newcastle have lost their last two matches and have slipped to 11th on the table with a 4-2-5 record. Newcastle have proven themselves as a very inconsistent yet very dangerous team so far this season, with decent performances against solid teams in Liverpool, Stoke and Southampton.

Newcastle have failed to take all three points from Manchester United in their last five attempts, although their last two games have ended in draws, the last of which a 3-3 result back in January of 2012. Both teams, Manchester particularly, are much improved since then and will come into this game with the home field advantage. We like them to bounce back after the Chelsea loss here.

TIP: Manchester United to win to nil - $1.91 at Ladbrokes
