Melbourne vs Fremantle Betting Tips
MCG, Saturday 28th May 4:35pm (AEST)
Melbourne
Injuries: Kade Chandler (Suspended), James Harmes (Hamstring), Michael Hibberd (Calf), Blake Howes (Foot), Ed Langdon (Ribs), Christian Salem (Knee), Joel Smith (Ankle)
Melbourne has most of their premiership players available for selection at the moment. Ed Langdon is an important cog in the machine unable to suit up this weekend, while Christian Salem is a chance to return next weekend.
The Demons did exactly as expected last weekend and made light work of a poor North Melbourne outfit. It took them a while to get going, but they held the Kangaroos to just two goals in the second half en route to their 10th win from as many games this season. Impressively, the feel around the Demons is that they’re still yet to get out of second gear despite being undefeated.
Fremantle
Injuries: Jye Amiss (Kidney), Nat Fyfe (Back), Nathan O’Driscoll (Foot), Sam Switkowski (Suspended), Joel Western (Hamstring)
Fremantle now have the majority of their key players back out on the park. Nat Fyfe also has a timetable for a return and could play as early as next weekend. Sam Switkowski is also out for the next two weeks due to suspension.
The Dockers were all the rave after their road win against the Cats in Round 7, but they seem to have become a bit complacent since that superb victory. They enter this round having lost each of their last two matches despite being the short favourites in both. Still, the Dockers remain in the top four with a 7-3 record on the season.
Match Prediction
The Demons are obviously the better and more consistent of the two teams in this matchup, but they still haven’t hit top form this season despite being 10-0. Seven of their 10 wins have been by under 40 points and I expect that to continue this weekend against a Dockers outfit that will be desperate to bounce back after a couple of poor outings. The Demons have been within four goals of the Demons in each of their last three clashes and should be able to push them again on Saturday.

Prop Bets
Charlie Spargo is an underrated member of the Demons forward line and plays his role perfectly on a weekly basis. He isn’t a huge goal kicker, but he has jagged at least one goal in four of his last six games and should get a couple of chances to find the big sticks at home this weekend.
Charlie Spargo Anytime Goal Kicker ($1.83 Ladbrokes)
Kozzie Pickett is in some of the best form of his young career at the moment and has been hitting the scoreboard with regularity. He’s kicked 11 goals from his last five games including 2+ in 4/5 and remains really good value for multiple goals this weekend.
Kysaiah Pickett 2+ Goals ($2.05 Ladbrokes)
I backed in Michael Walters for 15 touches last weekend and he didn’t disappoint as he collected 19 despite his team performing poorly. He’s continuing to build his form with every game this season and I still like his value this round.
Michael Walters 15+ Disposals ($1.64 Ladbrokes)
