NFL 2018-19: Week 11 Preview & Betting Tips

November 13th 2018, 6:50pm, By: andyrosos

The 2018-19 NFL season continues this weekend with Week 11 of the season getting underway on Friday with the Green Bay Packers travelling to Seattle. We had a tough week in NFL betting last weekend, hitting on just 1 of 4 tips but we’ll look to improve in Week 11 as we takea  look at some of the key games of the round and give our betting tips below.

NFL Week 11 Betting Tips

Green Bay Packers at Seattle Seahawks (Friday 12.20pm AEDT)

The Seahawks will host the Packers in the Week 11 opener on Friday. Seattle have lost their last two games in a row, albeit to tough competition in the Chargers and the Rams. They were fairly competitive in both games, especially against the Rams, where they put up 31 points and lost by just five points. They currently sit 2nd in the NFC West with a 4-5 record and will be desperately seeking some wins to round out the season in an attempt to clinch a NFC Wildcard spot.

The Packers have been inconsistent to say the least so far in 2018. They are yet to win consecutive games and currently sit 3rd in the NFC North with a 4-4-1 record. A tough loss to the Patriots back in Week 9 was followed up by a good 19-point win over the Dolphins on the weekend.\ in which running back Aaron Jones compiled 172 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns.

The Seahawks start as slight 2.5-point favourites at home on Friday, which we think is about right given their form of late. They might have lost their last two games but they have been fantastic since starting the season 0-2. They went on to win four of their next five games and have been competitive in their last two. We think they should hold advantage at home and cover the small line here.

Seattle -2.5

Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints (Monday 8.25am AEDT)

The Saints will look to extend their winning streak to nine consecutive games on Monday when they host the reigning Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles. In what was a danger game away from home in Cincinatti in Week 10, the Saints put up 51 points to absolutely blow the Bengals out of the water. Saints QB Drew Brees was fantastic in the win, putting up 265 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.

The Eagles had a winnable game against the Cowboys in Week 10 but couldn’t get the job done at home, going down by seven points as they move to 4-5 on the season and 3rd in the NFC East division. They are still without a few key players through injury, but have been well below par considering they are coming off a Super Bowl win and at the moment, look destined to miss the playoff.

The Saints are bit 7.5-point favourites here, which is hard to argue given that they have scored at least 30 points in seven of their last eight games. The Eagles, however, have been good on defence this season, only allowing over 25 point on three occasions this year and they have yet to allow over 30. That factor has brought the total point line into just 54 for this match, which we think is still a little high.

Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears (Monday 12.20pm AEDT)

Two of the top defences in the league square off on Monday as the Chicago Bears host the Minnesota Vikings from 12.20pm. After losing two games in a row, the Bears have won their last three and captured a fantastic 34-22 win over the Lions at home on the weekend. They currently have a 6-3 record and sit on top of a tight NFC North battle.

After a slow start to the season, the Vikings have now won four of their last five games and will be coming off a bye week in Week 10. They also took care of the Detroit Lions in their last contest, allowing only 9 points in the game, and besides letting the Saints score 30 on them in Week 8, have not allowed a team to score more than 21 in their last five games.

Really tough game to call here. The Bears start as slight favourites and at home, where they are 4-1 on the season so far, we have to side with the bookies. The Bears are 6-3 so far this season against the spread and 4-1 against the spread at home.

Chicago -2.5

Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Rams (Tuesday 12.15pm AEDT)

The game of the round and arguably the game of the season so far sees the 9-1 Kansas City Chiefs travelling to Los Angeles to face the 9-1 LA Rams on Tuesday. After suffering their first loss of the season to New England in Week 6, the Chiefs have gone on to win their next four games in a row and currently hold the best record in the AFC. They cruised home to a 26-14 win on the weekend and will be desperate to earn a road win here to maintain their advantage in the standings over the Patriots.

The Rams lost their first game of the season in New Orleans in Week 9 but bounced back to narrowly defeat the Seahawks on the weekend. They have, however, proved very easy to score on over the past few months, allowing at least 27 points in five of their last seven games. They are one of the highest scoring teams in the league, but should allow at least 30 to the Chiefs dynamic offence this week.

The total point line for the Rams and Saints game a few weeks ago stood at just 60, which the two teams eclipsed in the third quarter, ending the game with 80 combined points. At just 63 for Tuesday’s clash, we think the line is a little low again.
