The 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL) is proving to be one of the closest ever with many teams still well in contention for the playoffs. CSK are proving how tough it is for other sides to knock them off the perch, especially with the way they are able to snatch victories from the jaws of defeat. Having assembled an experienced IPL outfit, Chennai seems to have found what it takes to keep winning. Who will be the ones to stop them?
MI are traditionally known to pick the pieces once everyone starts writing them off. If we go by history, it has to be around this match that Mumbai and Rohit Sharma start picking up wins. This season, though, could be different and for a change MI may find themselves short changed.
Their fortress no longer is a fortress and the Royals no longer are picking up easy wins. It is easy to see the bright side and say that they have three wins, but their three losses have shown the inconsistent side of the Royals. Which side will turn up this weekend?
Whichever side turns up, the Royals will have a tougher time competing because the Sunrisers have been exceptional with their bowling displays. Having already defended 118 and 132 in the last two games, it is tough to punt against the Sunrisers on current form!
There is something inherently wrong with the RCB bowling setup across the IPL seasons. No matter how much they score with the bat, the bowlers make sure the target looks small. They have already conceded 200 or more, three times in their six matches so far. Maybe, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers need to don the bowler’s role as well!
KKR’s record reads three wins and four losses after going down to the Daredevils on Friday night. Their wins have been really comprehensive, which is why the camp is upset about the number of losses. Ideally, they should have won more than what they already have. With the playoff race set to be closer than ever, KKR wouldn’t want to leave things for the last minute.
