2017 NRL: Indigenous vs World All-Stars Betting Tips

February 9th 2017, 2:59pm, By: C.McGregor9

The 2017 NRL season is nearing and the Annual Indigenous All Stars game is this Friday night to help you get back into the groove of rugby league. We've got you covered with a full NRL All Stars game Preview and Betting Tips below.

World All Stars vs Indigenous All Stars (Friday 8pm AEDT)

The Indigenous All Stars are clear favourites heading into this one and it is easy to see why. The World All Stars were already outclassed on paper but after the withdrawls of Jarryd Hayne, Joseph Leiluia and Jake Trbojevic the side is definitely lacking a lot of talent.

The Indigenous All Stars have a very strong side with their backline boasting five representative players including Johnathan Thurston, Greg Inglis, Jack Bird, Dane Gagai and Blake Fergurson. They also add Jack Wighton and young gun Ashley Taylor who is almost a certainty to one day wear the Maroon jersey. They have a lot of fire power and they will create a lot of opportunties to score in attack.

Meanwhile their forward pack won’t take a backwards step with the 2016 grand final try scorer Andrew Fifita and also Ryan James starting in the front row. While they bolster a lot of attack off the bench in Latrell Mitchell and the versatile Tyrone Peachey.

The NRL All Stars won’t have a strong combination in the halves or outside backs while they don’t offer much in the middle of the field with their forward pack either. Their best hope at victory will be if Bryce Cartwright can produce magic in attack but after an offseason of controversy and with his defensive issues, we can’t see him putting the team on his back.

The Indigenous All Stars should win this one by a large margin.

TIP: Indigenous All Stars at the margin (13+) – $2.40 at Sportsbet

First Try Scorer

We will be sticking with the theme that the Indigenous All Stars will dominante this match and we are predicting them to open the try scoring. Blake Fergurson will be playing on the outside of Greg Inglis and if there is anything we have learned from watching Inglis in the centres it is that his wingers benefit from the defensive help he attracts. We are predicting him to draw the defence and put Fergurson away in the corner.

TIP: Fergurson first try scorer – $10 at Sportsbet
