2017 French Open: Women's Final Betting TIps

A miraculous run through the rounds has seen unseeded, 47^th ranked women’s player Jelena Ostapenko advance to the Final of the French Open to face off against third seed Simona Halep.

Ostapenko, who had never been past the third round at a Grand Slam before, advanced to the final after a upset victory over Switzerland's Timea Bacsinszky. The 20-year-old became the youngest Women’s player to reach a Grand Slam final since Caroline Wozniacki reached the US Open Final at 19 years of age and the first unseeded player to advance this far since 1983.

If she wants to win the French Open and her first major title, she’ll have to get past World No.4 and form women’s player Simona Halep first.

Halep reached the final after a scary moment against second seed Karolina Pliskova in the Semi Final. After winning the first set comfortably, Halep went down 6-3 in the second and looked to have lost the momentum. However, she rallied in the third to win 6-3 and book her ticket to the final.

Going on form and experience, you’d obviously have to go with Halep to win here, who can secure the World No.1 ranking in Women’s tennis with a win. However, the Cinderella story run from Ostapenko has been miraculous to say the least and as we are all too aware, anything can happen in a game of women’s tennis.

Opening at just $1.24, there isn’t much value for Halep in the head to head market. But at $1.67 there is still a little meat left on the bone if you fancy her in straight sets. The underdog should have the support of the crowd in this one, but we think it won’t be enough to stop Halep running away with it.

Halep has dropped just two sets on her road to the final, one against the 5^th seed and the other against the 3^rd seed. Ostapenko, while miraculous, has had a dream run in avoiding high seeds, with 11^th Wozniacki being her toughest match to date.
