Chicago Cubs at Houston Astros (Monday 10:08am)
Monday mornings televised game showcases the Chicago Cubs taking on the Houston Astros in Minute Maid Park at 10am. The three game series is tied at one each, with the Cubs taking the first match Saturday morning with a 2-0 shutout. Third baseman Kris Bryant came up with two run homer in the 5th to claim the victory, while Jon Lester threw seven scoreless innings. Game two the Astros stole the show with a 2-1 victory in a tight battle, that now sees them still two games out of wildcard reach.
Monday’s game could be another pitching battle with the Cubs bringing in Jake Arrieta who has a record of 16-6 and 2.84 ERA. Arrieta had a loss in his last start vs. the Giants but still was solid with seven strikeouts over six innings and gave up three runs. Right hand pitcher Mike Fiers takes the mound for the Astros, and will try and win the fifth consecutive game with Fiers starting. The Cubs always seem to fight back hard after a loss and rarely lose two in a row.
Don’t be surprised to see another tight battle with two quality pitchers taking the mound on Monday morning.

Seattle Mariners at Oakland Athletics (Monday 6:05am)
Seattle have won four on the trot and now sit one game behind Houston in the AL West division. Sunday’s game vs. the A’s, Nelson Cruz had 3 hits including two doubles and Norichika Aoki notched two doubles as well. Oakland have lost two in a row and are 3-7 in last 10. Raul Alcantara makes his second Major league start with his first start coming against the Angels last week.
Alcantara only lasted three innings when he hit three batters and walked another.

Colorado Rockies at San Diego Padres (Monday 6:45am)
Colorado start Chad Bettis early Monday morning Australia time. Last game Bettis pitched one of his best games with a two hit shutout against the Giants. The Rockies have been up and down this season but would certainly like to finish this four game series on a high note.
San Diego are sitting one game ahead of Arizona at the bottom of the NL West Division but have had a decent series against the Rockies with a 14-1 win in the first game.
