2015-16 EPL: Week 14 Preview & Betting Tips

November 26th 2015, 3:03pm, By: C.McGregor9

This time a year ago Leicester City was sitting on the bottom of the league, fast forward a year and remarkably the side is sitting on the top of the table. A tough stretch of games is ahead for the leaders starting with Manchester United this weekend. Continue reading for our English Premier League Week 14 Preview and Betting Tips.

Bournemouth vs Everton (Sunday 2am AEDT)

The Toffees extended their unbeaten record to three games as they put four past Aston Villa. The team has now scored 11 goals in three games as they prove to have one of the strongest attacks in the league. This is backed up by their conversion rate being the best in the EPL, scoring with one in five of their attempts. They will likely create plenty of chances against a side that has conceded the most goals in the league and with Romelu Lukaku scoring seven goals in his past seven matches, I expect the Belgium to be on the scoring sheet as Everton pick up the victory.

TIP: Everton @ $2.40 with Crownbet

Crystal Palace vs Newcastle United (Sunday 2am AEDT)

The win for the Magpies on the weekend against Bournemouth snapped a 12 league game record without a win. They remain on the road this weekend but face a tougher opponent who will be wanting to bounce back after a poor performance last weekend.

The Eagles would be incredibly disappointed with the loss against Sunderland at home. However, Selhurst park hasn’t been much of a fortress as Palace have only won three of their past 11 matches at home and Newcaslte have a strong record against them having won eight of the last 11 matches and the other three ended in draws. I expect this match to be close with both sides splitting the points.

TIP: Draw @ $3.60 with WilliamHill

Leicester City vs Manchester United (Sunday 4.30am AEDT)

Incredibly the Foxes are currently sitting on the top of the table and as fate should have it Jamie Vardy has the opportunity to create history by scoring in 11 straight league matches and it is against Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s former side who holds the current record of 10 goals in 10 straight league matches.

There is no hiding that Leicester rely heavily on their goal scoring as they have a league best 28 goals whilst they are one of only two teams in the top 14 who have conceded 20 goals which suggests they will have to improve on the defensive end if they are to remain on the top of the table.

The Red Devils are undefeated in their last six matches and will be looking to extend their winning record to three games. Whilst their defence hasn’t been great, goalkeeper David De Gea has been able to make up for their mistakes and ensure they pick up the victories. I expect Vardy to secure the record this weekend but they won’t be able to stop the Red Devils from scoring at least three goals.

TIP: Manchester United @ $2.30 with Sportsbet

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea (Sunday 11pm AEDT)

The Spurs impressive run continues as they are now within striking distance of the top eight as they are undefeated in their past 12 league matches whilst also winning three of their last four matches. Harry Kane has returned to goal scoring form picking up seven goals in his last seven league matches, despite his shocking miss last weekend that ended up on a lot of blooper reels.

Whilst Chelsea have won their last two matches, the pressure is still mounted firmly on Jose Mourinho and his side and another loss this weekend would spell for disaster as the side still remains in the bottom end of the ladder. To make matters worse the side has only picked up one victory in its last 7 away league matches and lost five of those matches.

The Spurs defence is continually improving whilst their attack has reached new heights in recent weeks and they have saved their best performances for their tougher opponents. They will be up for the challenge this weekend and I have them to beat the defending champions.

TIP: Spurs @ $2.40 with Palmerbet
